He appeared on the records of countless other artists during his lifetime, including those by Count Basie, Yusuf Lateef, Coleman Hawkins, Buddy Rich, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock and Kenny Burrell. However, Jones was at his finest when leading his own groups.
