I like it having the best shows of Andy Griffith on one dvd.
This is a great collection of episodes covering quite a selection of the show's history, both color and black & white. It is a great way to introduce someone to the show (which is why I purchased it) as well as to revisit old friends. I gave it as a gift to a young teenager who likes to watch videos, but doesn't need to see all the language, violence, disrespect, and sexuality blatant in today's shows; he has really enjoyed it, and is able to watch it with his parents without embarassment.
Am a huge Mayberry fan. This is the perfect accompaniment to the DVD collection.
I've had trouble finding the earlier seasons of the Andy Griffith Show on DVD with subtitles or closed captions. This 3-disc collection has some of the best episodes from the black-and-white years with subtitles as well as with the original sponsor clips.
Love to watch old Mayberry shows. Has the made for TV movie Return To Mayberry
I suppose this serves two purposes. My neighbors are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary soon. They mentioned some of the older shows that they like with The Andy Griffith Show being one of them, The DVD happens to be the 50th anniversary edition. How awesome is that?
I bought this set for my husband as a last minute Christmas gift, and I think I enjoyed it more than he did. My step son has been yelling "CITIZENS ARREST, CITIZENS ARREST" for weeks now.. I especially love the episode where Barney is held against his will by the convicts. I would definately recommend this item to anyone who loves the Andy Griffith show!!!
I bought this mainly for the Danny Thomas pilot. I had never seen it and am a huge Andy Griffith fan. This episode was very cool and the other shows are also great for Andy collectors.
Enjoyed reviewing the old TV Series until I found that I had 2 DISC THREE and no DISC ONE. Returned the set, bought another set and found out at home that it had the same problem. Suggest you open the set in Customer Service and make sure all three discs are included before leaving the store.
