I have been using this brush for years. I, too, have noticed the shedding of bristles during and after lathering. However, I never have had another brush that lathers like this one does. It's fantastic. To mitigate the bristle loss I do a few things. First, I don't use really hot water to rinse or moisten the brush. Second, I do a little “grooming” of the brush (while it is wet) just before putting it in the shaving cream. By “grooming” I mean gently pulling on the bristles to get rid of the loose ones prior to using it. Finally, after I shave I rinse the brush in warm (not hot) water and gently tug on the bristles again to get rid of the loose ones. I keep the brush on a stand with my razor, so the water doesn't settle into the base of the brush. I know this seems a little “high maintenance”, but I think the brush is worth it. And it seems I still have plenty of bristles after several years of use. I'll probably get another one of these when mine gets too thin. I hope they still make it. Happy shaving!
I have owned this brush for almost a year. I've only used mine since January (11 months). I've exchanged it twice because of loss of hair each time I use it. They have gladly made the exchanges. However, I don't see the problem being resolved. I paid too much money to put up with this issue. Disappointed
Bought the Lexington Collection Fine shaving brush about a year ago, because it made a nice set with my Lexington Collection Shaver, but it keeps loosing around 5-7 hairs every shave. This is annoying for two reasons, one it tickles and bothers when shaving, and two the more it looses the more are going to go, it is pretty simple. This Brush is no way going to last 10 years as promised in the store. In fact the cheap starter brush I bought is holding up much better, granted it is not as soft, never the less very disappointing for a brush that costs big bucks!
I bought 6 months ago and within 3 months it started shedding bristles with every shave, sometimes whole clumps of them. I bought a cheap starter brush for 20% of the cost and it worked well for 5 years before it started shedding bristles the way this one does. It's going to have to be replaced before a year is out, constantly having to pick bristles out of the lather on my face or out of the razor.
I bought the brush under a year ago and in the least few months it is losing 10+ bristles every shave. I have even tied a plastic tie around it but the hair still falls out. For such an expensive brush I expected better glue and construction. I love the brush and just want one that is long-lasting
