As one of the longest-running variety programs of the post-war era, The Dean Martin Show ran as a fixture on NBC from September 1965 through May 1974, and drew large and loyal audiences. Its format was relatively simple: set in a mock-up of host Dean's living room, it alternated between musical numbers sung by Dean and various guests, and comic blackouts that were ultimately performed by a group of comedy regulars, such as Tom Bosley, Nipsey Russell and Dom DeLuise. The sprawling compilation Best of The Dean Martin Variety Show - Collector's Edition pulls sketches and songs from 20 episodes of the series, with most of the material unseen since its original network broadcasts. Featured in this collection are 96 full musical performances. Guest stars include: Kate Smith, Lainie Kazan, Duke Ellington, Pat Cooper, Marty Feldman, and many others.
