This is one of the best book collection you could own! The stories are captivating. I read them aloud to my 7 year old boy and he always asks me to keep reading. Buy this hardcover set for its durability. I highly recommend The Chronicles of Narnia to everyone!
First, let me tell you I haven't opened the set because it is a gift for a grandson and will be mailed to him soon. What I can say is I was so excited to see and feel the set! It appears to be of great quality. A few of the reviews I read before ordering left me a bit skeptical, so I was so pleased when I received it. I was also very pleased with the delivery speed !
Good paper and binding. Pauline's Baynes illustrations are well-presented. The set is in the sequence Lewis suggested, starting with the Magician's Nephew.
Although a Chronicles of Narnia Box Set is what I was looking for and what I purchased, however the one I received was NOT the one I wanted nor the one that was pictured or described in the item specifications. I received an 8 book paperback set when the item I thought I was ordering was depicted as a 7 book hardback set.
As another shopper mentioned, I ordered what is described as a hardback set, but a paperback set was delivered. Walmart won't just exchange the books for the correct set; they want me to return them for a refund and then order them again. Convenient for them as the price has gone up. Yeah, I'll just get them somewhere else.
What arrived was not what I ordered at all. I ordered the hardback set and was sent a paperback set. I returned it and was very displeased with the whole experience.
The ad lies, these are NOT HARDCOVER books. They are all softcover.
Clearly advertised as hardcover set but I received a paperback set.
I didn't receive the nicer hardback set I ordered but was sent paperback instead. I returned and reordered and hope to leave a stellar review when I receive the right set
