Easy to install and it works GREAT!!!!
We went through 3 before deciding this one was the perfect one. It's so simple, fast to install, dogs can't jiggle their way through, even holds the weight when our 80 pound dog gets excited when we come home and he puts his paws and weight on top. We are expecting our 1st baby any day now so the foot access is a dream!!!! Worth it completely!
Stay away from the Regalo easy step. We picked up the The First Years - Hands Free Gate as a replacement to flimsy easy step gate. It costs a little more and the extension is sold separate but it is secure and durable. You get what you pay for and with The First Years - Hands Free Gate you are paying for better quality and security for your child
Just purchased our second gate hands-free gate and we love it! We have had this same gate for 4 years and it has held up well with constant daily use. It is very simple to install and the foot pedal operation makes it easy to open especially when your hands are full. The gate material is durable, easy to clean and looks attractive. We are using both gates to keep our dogs out of specific areas of the house and they work great!
This gate is great! I like that I can enter the room hands-free (in case my hands are full with a laundry basket, etc.). I was worried that it would be too narrow to easily fit through because the lady in the product picture is so skinny and she looks like she would barely fit. But, it's fine for big people too. One little problem: If the gate is being used in an area with a closing door (like a bedroom), the foot pedal does protrude and interfere with the bedroom door somewhat (barely) if the bedroom door is closed. But, we just added a piece of wood to our door frame that extends another 1/2 inch from the door frame so that the mounting knobs have something to rest against, and pulled the gate away from the real door about a half inch (on one side only...the side with the pedal). A wood strip designed for stairs worked perfectly (stair nose). We could have done with out it altogether but the only half of the "knob" would touch the door frame and we thought that it would get bumped out every so often. We initially had a tall gate but that interfered with the bedroom door knob and we had to use our hands to get in. This is WAY more efficient! Love it! Spend the extra few dollars for hands-free. You won't regret it.
I got this one and the Dream Baby swing gate in black. I needed 2 gates but didn't know which to get so got both and figured I'd keep one and exchange the other for another like the one I kept but I ended up keeping both. This one is truly handsfree and I have it in the doorway of my 17month old's room. He can't climb it and can't open and thats good enough for me. Its super easy to open, just push down on the pedal and pull or push the gate. It only comes in white though. Besides that, its awesome. Value gets 4 stars since I didn't really shop around. Durability, 4 stars since I haven't had it long and features, 4 stars because it doesn't have anything special. Its super easy to set up, I didn't even need the instructions but then I'm forever putting stuff together so it was just common sense for me. I would recommend this to anyone with kids or pets. Its low though so if you're really tall or have acrobatic pets, you may want a taller gate. Personally I love it and will most likely get more for other areas of the house.
I bought this product for a customer of mine to used for her dogs. I have them at home for my dogs. Very easy to install and very easy to move somewhere else if needed.
I had a older gate from The First Years and I need another one and found it on this web site.It is just as good!
This item was very, very easy to install! Although it doesn't close on its own like one we have in the basement, I like that for where we have it placed because it also gives the option for it to open without it being propped open. It has a nice look to it. I'm satisfied so far!
I really like this gate. My only complaint is that I wish the opening was wider by a few inches. I have twins and they both love it too. One just talks to it. The other has tested it thoroughly, and it is childproof. My baby boy likes to stand on the lever and try to open it, but it won't budge.
