[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These totes work perfectly to protect my Christmas ornaments. They are a great size so you can easily fit them on a shelf. I tossed my old ornament holder because I love this one so much! I love that the lid locks!
This item has been delayed multiple times. I requested a cancelation and it has not been approved although I got an email letting me know that my item was delayed. I just want to cancel it it is to store Christmas, decorations and it's Jan 10th. Don't buy this item if you are hoping to Get it on time or would do the logical thing and try to cancel it if it were weeks late, Because apparently they won't let you. I guess now I'll have to wait until it arrives someday and then go through the hassle overturning it. Ridiculous. Don't purchase this.
I'm happy I purchased this and it works for my needs. Will purchase more. The plastic is not sturdy and the lid doesn't form a tight seal, so I would only store this in an area it won't get dirty or dusty and would not place heavier bins above it. Better for larger, non-fragile ornaments.
Ordered 2 boxes after reading reviews of several broken lids, and was hoping for at least one of them to not be cracked. These were not shipped to me in a box, but rather they were processed as a Delivery and came straight to my porch, in about 2 days time. They were not cracked on the TOP of the lids, but rather the little curved side reurns that come together just above the handles- and unfortunately they BOTH had this same condition. (About a week later, I saw them in store, and double checked there, too- every single one had the same breakage, or worse! Time for a redesign...) The cardboard pieces that come with it, in order to create the grid and levels inside, were sufficient but not substantial... one little push too far to fit them together would result in a bent piece right at where the cut outs were, so it was no longer rigid with right angles in the outer grid sections. However, I do appreciate that there were several options for where to place the grid pieces, so you could size them to ornaments accordingly on each level, as needed. They seem to stack well, but I ended up only using one box, but keeping both just in case (since the price was so reasonable, compared to what else is available). Although they stack nicely while emptry, the top locking mechanism is finicky and the split top makes it feel flimsy. I would NOT recommend putting anything heavier than HOLLOW ornaments in them, especially if you plan to stack them up.
The storage tote is just what I needed for storing my Christmas bulbs. I had been keeping them in their original packaging which took up a lot of room and were becoming quite worn from years of use. It did arrive slightly damaged though. I would recommend buying this product in store to prevent this.
I waited forever to get this as it was out of stock, I was so excited to find it came back. once it got it, I realized that the box doesn't fully seal so if I left in the attic or garage, bugs could get in. I returned it.
Considering these bins are from The Home Edit, I would have expected a better quality product. But these are such poor quality for the price. They're made of cheap plastic. The lid is flimsy and difficult to open. Should be sold in the dollar store because that's what it's worth. Will be returning.
The lid is broken. The cardboard pieces are too small for the container, so there's a large space on the sides.
Broken.
I have historically been very happy with the quality of The Home Edit's line, but this ornament bin is really really poor quality. The quality of the plastic is sooooo cheap and soft. Even without anything in them, the handles bend when picked up and the latch lid is weak. One bin showed up cracked and broken. I like the cardboard dividers as opposed to paper card stock dividers in other ornament bins but storage is really limited to standard size ornament balls and there is little flexibility for ornaments of different shaped and sizes. I was so excited about the shape of the bin, but everything else about it ended up being super disappointing sadly. I really hope they improve this product because the design is on the right track but there are some major design flaws and serious corners cut on quality and sturdiness.
