This is the second clapper plus with remote that I have purchased. The first one I purchased was a few years ago, but I recently accidentally blew out one of the plugs to it! (Oops!) So I had to purchase a new one. But otherwise it was great! It lasts a long time and is just so convenient! Great product! I will continue to buy this product in the future for sure!
Cheers filled the room at our Christmas celebration when this gift was opened. The recipient was delighted and said he had wanted one for a long time. "Where did you find this?!? We've looked everywhere!" Our happy response was "Walmart!" Thanks for providing the fun!
Love the remote control easy to use!
I knew that the device was not easy to use before I bought it because several other reviewers have already written what I am about to say. The device works just as advertised; the problem is that you must clap at the exact pace programmed into the device or it doesn't work. It takes some practice and a lot of patience to get the pace and pattern just right. However, if you work at it, like learning the pace of a song, you will get the hang of it. The other point, is this model comes with a small remote control which is very easy to use. The limitation of the remote control is distance. It doesn't have a very lengthy range. It will easily reach from my bed to the bedside lamp, but doesn't reach across the room. If easily turning off your bedside lamp is your objective, this device gets the job done.
Device is extra sensitive even in low sensititivity mode. Lights keep on going on and off to any sounds so only able to utilize remote only mode.
The clapper was purchased for my spouse who is almost bed-ridden with a physical impairment. She had difficulty reaching for the switch on the pole lamp to turn it off and on, Tha clapper with the remote switch gives her the ability to push a button by her bed and operate the light without trying to reach the lamp. The only downside is that infrequently the lamp will turn off without any cause. The upside of the product definitely outweighs that minor inconvenience.
its ok, its not as easy to use as the commercails show. some times when you click the remote it wont go on or off, I find myself clicking sever times to get it to work, and I dont bother trying to clap, as it hurt my hands I had to clap so many times and so loud. but it dose come in handy when it works, as there are just lamps you can not get at esaily.
The clapping function on this product is terrible. It is best if you can see the clapper so you can watch the lights register the claps. I have had to reset it multiple times over a week period because it will just freeze up or something. If you have this thing next to speakers or anything that makes noise expect your devices to be turning on and off. I figured the remote would work fine, but I was wrong. It works when it wants to, and for the past week it hasn't wanted to work. This is not an easy to use product, so buy only if you truly need one of these things. It is no longer fun after the first clap.
I don't know how that this is supposed to be a helpful product for elderly or handicapped people. the product is supposed to turn a light or appliance on by clapping your hands. first of all, you have to be very close to the receiver for it to work. second of all you have to clap your hands exactly right or it wont work.
I bought this item for my mother who is 83 years old. She would clap her hands harder and harder, and it still wouldn't turn on. Then my brother tried it. He had to clap hard in order for it to turn on. Even he didn't like it because you have to clap hard. Sorry to say I wouldn't advise to get one.
