I needed a 10 ft umbrella & although I was hesitant about an online purchase, price was right so why not? Pros: crank & tilt work great Cons: the color is not tan but more toward yellow; fabric is thin I'm returning mainly because of the color issue.
I bought this umbrella in May. After 4 months, it's completely faded, but it covers a large area and it's sturdy. You will definitely need a base for it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this umbrella for some much needed shade. The umbrella is a pleasant bright blue color. The umbrella opens and closes easily. It is quite large and provides ample shade. The fabric quality of the umbrella is good. The issues we had were with the installation of the pole into the base. It was very difficult to screw in the screw that secured these two pieces together. It seemed like a soft metal was used for the pole and it was easily stripped. The small wrench that was provided was useless. Throw it away and use a regular wrench and proceed slowly when applying the screw. The setup would have been quick and easy if it wasn't for the difficulty with the screw and pole.
I've had this through 2 1/2 summers now, and it's sturdy enough, even through high winds it has held up very well. The reason for the 3 stars is because it started fading the first summer! I don't mean a slight fade, I mean turning almost a beige color. As you can see from the photo, it was the color of the dark red in the chair cushion. It's a shame because nothing broke on it, the fabric is just not fade resistant....at all!! Oh and it was taken in over the winter.
