This is a great shredder. The 10 sheet capacity is no problem. It is sturdy and well made, with several built in safety features. From time to time I do massive amounts of shredding and this handles that with no problems. The little window is handy to see how full it is getting without taking the unit off of the basket.
Having never owned nor operated a shredder I was not quite sure what to buy. Looked at many different brands/types etc. before deciding on this one. I have not been disappointed. I used this for 4 days straight (shredding old tax returns/receipts/other documents). It worked continuously for 50 - 60 minutes at a time. Then required cooling off period of 30 minutes - which is normal - then back to 50 - 60 minutes of shredding. Never jammed, took small paper clips and credit cards with out any problems. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a light/medium usage shredder for your home.
I read a ton of reviews on different shredders. This one had the most favorable reviews so I went with it. I've been very pleased. I especially love the safety guard on top because I have young children who love to help me shred. It is a bit noisy, but I can handle that. It does a great job shredding and I like that there is a window in the box to show me when it is getting full. I hope it lasts a long time as I am very happy with it so far.
Working great. My mother passed and I am going thru all of her paperwork. Boxes and Boxes of paper, but so far this unit is not overheating or jamming.
Bought this shredder for my daughter. She had been asking for one since the summer. Figured it would be a good present for Christmas. She was thrilled to get it. Started using it the next day. Does everything she needs it to do. Very happy customer.
GREAT FOR THE PRICE, SHREDDER RUNS FAST AND SMOOTH BUT READ THE BOOK THAT COMES WITH IT..IT WILL TAKE ONLY SMALL PAPER CLIPS AND STAPLES, CREDIT CARDS BUT NO CD/DVDS, I DONT THINK IT'S STRONG ENOUGH BUT IT WORKS GREAT ON PAPER.
I've only used this shredder for one batch, but it shreds really well, and it did an old cc w/o any problems. The only thing that 'bugs' me thus far is that the top is considerably heavy... other than that, I've been so pleased with it, I ordered another the next day for my Mom.
If you have more than 10 sheets at a time, forget it. But it will do up to 10 sheets well. And that's exactly what it says on the directions - 10 sheets. I have shredded several credit cards - 1 at a time and it works flawlessly. And it also is good shredding papers that are stapled together. I would call this machine perfect for "home" use. If you need it for a busy office - forget it.
Would like it better if I could shred envelopes with plastic windows and anything that has glue on it. And also so my incoming mail with name and address could be shredded. My old one I could do that. I do like the feature that it will not turn on if basket is to full. Very good feature.
I have had this shredder for 2 weeks. The second time I used it, the machine jammed and I cannot get it to work. When it did work it was noisy.
