I was hesitant to buy this lipstick online, because often colors don't represent well in photos and spending $29 on a lipstick is a lot for me, especially these days as a stay-at-home mom. But I've been on a search for my authentic self, and I realized one of the things I used to LOVE doing was to make myself up dramatically and take photos, just for fun. Since being pregnant, I revved up my all natural & organic lifestyle, which meant almost all of my make up went in the trash. I decided it was time to recapture the fun of adorning & painting myself, showing myself some long-awaited self-care, and I plopped down some money to buy more than just eyeliner & mascara from 100% Pure (which I have been buying for years) and bought--among other things--this red lipstick. I used to rock TRUE red lipstick--you know the kind, what you'd imagine a classic Hollywood screen siren would wear--and so I took the plunge hoping that this would indeed be the color I was after. Needless to say, IT IS! A TRUE RED. If you're not familiar with blood oranges it might seem like this would be orangey, but it is not too orange and not too pink but a perfect combo of the two. I am fair and olive skinned and it looks fab. But what might even be better than the way it looks is the way it FEELS! It feels like silk on my lips and I love rubbing my lips together after I've applied it! So luxurious! 100% Pure, you are AMAZING. I love that I can feel glamorous, still know that I am putting on/in my body only TRULY natural ingredients, and still achieve amazing color. The only critique I have about anything 100% Pure makes is the lip caramel with natural flavors, since natural flavors are anything but natural. But that is the only product I have issue with, and this lipstick is PERFECTION! If you want to turn some heads and make a statement any day of the week, try a Blood Orange red lip with a neutral (just eyeliner & mascara) eye and you will! People definitely notice, but in a nice subtle way. It's fun to catch people off guard when they aren't expecting it. ;)
As far as a creme matte lipsticks go, this is the best. It's unbelievable that ingredients this natural produce this great of a formula. The color is truly lasting as long as you don't have a thick layer of chapstick underneath. So far, I've bought two in the color Aubergine because I love the way it looks on my pale skin. And I have given my friend, who has slightly tan skin, the color Blood Orange which she used until she couldn't get any more product out of. Would 100% recommend and hope they never stop producing these.
After having test that indicates I have lead from lipstick, I went On search for organic lipstick because life without red lipstick is not an option. I found many vegan or partial organic but all contained titanium dioxide. Except 100% Pure. I just got my Blood Orange today and felt sooo excited because I was not disappointed!!!!! It's beautiful- the color is rich, it's deep and saturates my lips with a matte retro look that I love. I feel so happy that my search led me to this company and also that I took a chance before receiving the lipstick and ordered mascara and eyeliner, as well as Sonora and Sandstone, now I'm super happy I placed that order yesterday. Just one request..... Brown lipstick!!!!! I got my red back but love brown to darken reds for a deep burnt shade. So happy and sooooo thankful!!!! Thank you for the amazing make-up!Oh, also love the vintage style tube and size, it reminds me of my grandmother's lipstick I used to open find in the bottom of her purse and try on. Everything is beautiful- thank you!
I tried the pomegranate oil based lipstick in poppy which was a nice bright red but this Nopal color is what I was really looking for. It's a nice dark rich red that can actual act as a neutral tone that still has some sassiness! Love this color and how soft my lips feel unlike many other mattes that are so drying.
I am very happy with this color and formula. It's a little drying, but it is a matte (and not as drying as most other mattes). The color is cool toned. Truly cool toned colors that are also higher chroma are very hard to find in the 100% Pure line up. Most are neutral and warm and many are muted. I hope they make more colors like Marrakesh in the future.
I am very happy with my blood orange lipstick purchase. It has great pigment and looks just like the example up on the website, even for my brown skin. It lasts as well, and has great texture with no yucky flavor. I only ask that you guys formulate more colors (non-pink) that compliment brown skin tones :) I will be testing out a few other colors in the near future tho.
I ended up concluding that matte in general was just not for me. My lips look all the sexier for a little bit of gloss on them. However, I wanted to try one more matte before I threw in the towel on them for now. Enter, Sahara. Way too dark for me, but I couldn't discount that it has great texture, coverage, and the color is really lovely. There are a lot of ladies this would look fabulous on, but a creme Irish looking lady? Maybe not so much unless you want to make a statement! Returned without issue. I love this company.
This color is a vibrant clear pink/peachy shade. I love to dab and pucker; a little goes a long way for a beautiful healthy looking tint....or apply more for a more intense color. I have fair skin, brown hair and brown eyes. I love this color and seems to give a healthy glow to my complexion and would work with most if not all complexions
I stopped wearing lipstick in favor of softer color-glosses a few years ago. I got this as a promo and have never worn anything close to this color. It was free so I tried it. In love! It's a brilliant color I never would have chosen, stays on for hours and doesn't smear. Perfection! Hope it's not discontinued...
I have been leaning more towards matte lipsticks lately only because I do not like the shininess of regular lipsticks, unless it's a gloss of course... then it should be shiny, right? The color is not exactly what is pictured (more of a coral than a nude) but it is still a nice color & it goes on well too. It does seem to moisturizer and last which is good because reapplying often can be annoying & usually dries up my lips. I will be trying out more. More neutrals should be added to the already amazing lineup of color options.
