this kitchen set has all you need for starter kitchens or replacements for older ones. there is a solid teal towel and white and teal striped towel. the towels are absorbent and don't just push water or fluid around. they are soft and a great color too. the pot holders are oversized in my opinion, my others were much smaller these are more rectangle size. the oven mitt feels a little bigger than my older ones too, so good for many reasons, I have used the mitt and it does it's job protecting your hands from the oven. you really can't beat this set, everything you need for the kitchen in one set, and the color is great and trendy.
my honest opinion on the Mainstays Cotton Kitchen Towel, Oven Mitt and Pot Holder Kitchen Set, is that it is definitely a great buy! So I actually wanted to give some honest feed back, so for the past week, I put my oven set away that I already owned, so I can give this new one a good go round. My first impression was how well made it is. It's a very thick Mitt, covers behind my wrist, and still has very good dexterity. its definitely better than the set I already had, as I feel a lot more comfortable reaching into the oven with it! the pot holders are the same material as the Mitt, so naturally I was able to hold my hot cast iron skillet a lot longer without flinching due to the heat. I even appreciate how the stitching is extra sturdy. You can tell that they had the consumer in mind when they made these! Right off the bat, I can tell that this set is gonna last a long time, and I even feel more eager to cook so I can use them! Then, there is also the added bonus of the 2 Terry cloths. I love how they decided to offset the colors between the two, so I can differentiate which one I used to wipe things up from the floor!...lol...Would I recommend this product?...absolutely!...like I said, I love to cook! and I look forward to using these over and over again!
I received Mainstays Gray 5 Piece Kitchen Set and I love it!!! The set includes one oven mitt, two potholders, and two terry kitchen towels. The quality of all the items were surprisingly great. All items worked very well. The kitchen towels were mainly used to dry off my hands or wipe the counters. They were very absorbent. The potholders came in handy when I had no more space on top of the stove, so I placed a potholder on the counter or table as a heat protectant from the hot pan and it worked great. The oven mitt also got the job done but obviously the longer I held a hot baking sheet the heat on the mitt would slowly increase. I don't intend holding hot items for too long, so the mitt is perfect! Overall the product is of great quality, they are very affective, 100% cotton, and machine washable. I would definitely recommend to my family and friends!

Great matching set. I have a brown/tan kitchen with red accents and although these are a little closer to maroon than red, they still fit in well and look great! You get two dish towels one red, one white with red accents, two hot pads and an oven mitt in that same deep red color. Nothing remarkable about them per se. A decent matching set though. The color being reddish would also be great to use around the holidays even if you aren't matching your decor.
Burned my hand straight through the oven mitt… Ouch!
I like this set. The color is beautiful. The hand towels are nicely made. The pot holders however do not have a whole lot of cushioning inside them so the heat comes through fairly easily. You could quickly burn yourself if you done fold them over and double it up. The set is nice. I like the variety of towels and holders. Other than the lack of padding, I have no complaints. The product works for what its intended for.
The quality of the product is not that good. They are not thick enough specially the mitt and potholders. When holding a very hot dish I can still feel the heat because of the lack of thickness. The color is quit nice though. And the set of 5 is very convenient for the price.
Overall, I thought this was a good value. The whole set includes 2 kitchen towels, an oven mitt, and 2 pot holders. I liked the neutral coordinating colors. There were nice loops on the pot holders and the oven mitt for easy hanging. The pot holders and oven mitt were also nicely quilted and the towels are 100% cotton. I liked the towels, and I think the pot holders would be great to use on the counter or table to put hot dishes on, however the oven mitt itself left a little to be desired. It's probably okay to use to pick up casserole dishes, skillet lids, or handles, but I would be wary of hot items with large surface areas. I used it to handle an aluminum cookie sheet and I very quickly felt the heated metal through the gloves and onto my fingertips. It didn't burn but I very quickly moved the cookie sheet from the oven to the stove-top because of it. It's probably fine if you don't hold something too hot for an extended period of time. I can just be a little disorganized and not always have immediate stove top space cleared. I tend to pull things out of the oven and hold them a little longer than needed as I try to re-arrange and find somewhere to put what I just took out of the oven. This is not the ideal oven-mitt for that. Overall though I thought the set was nice. It just depends what kind of cook or baker you are and what you are making.
