I've had this iron about a month and I love it. The design is simple and it works great. I've always used another brand and even in the more expensive styles they always drip. This iron does not drip. The steam feature is strong and I like that you can hold the iron vertically and still use the steam so you can steam curtains or hanging clothes. (I haven't tried that yet). The spray feature gives a fine spray that hits where you want for the most part. Overall, a solid iron, no whistles and bells, just presses the clothes quickly and efficiently.
This product worked as advertised out-of-the-box and has all the functions I needed for ironing, including steam for cotton & cotton blend materials. The auto shut off works, so it takes a load off your mind when you are in a hurry to get out the door.
Iron gets really hot, can steam clothing vertically while hanging. I use it every day and the pressing is so easy and fast. I like irons with the stainless steel bottoms because they don't catch or snag and glide very easily. The cleaning feature is a nice extra, with auto shut off. I live in an area where calcium and lime is a problem but for the price you can't beat it. I paid $20 at the store. The higher priced irons I looked at but wanted to give this one a try since I had my other for 10 years and it was a Sunbeam. My hands fit nicely and are not uncomfortable when using the iron. I just love ironing even more with this Black and Decker and the color is pretty too. Five Stars !
Second one like it lasted long time till I drop it
the product works fine but the control for the temp is almost lock and is so hard to adjust.
I am on my 4th and last iron. My first one started leaking shortly after purchase. I returned it for another which leaked as soon as I got it home. I exchanged for my 3rd which didn't leak but the steam button stayed stuck when it was pressed. I returned it for my 4th and this one: the steam button stuck and it leaks. I will be buying something other than a B&D.
The steam button broke immediately. Looked nice in the store. Think B&D's quality has gone down hill... Also, the temperature wheel is now just numbers. I have no idea what a 3 is for vs. 4 or 5. Would get a different one.
This iron worked approx 15 min and ABSOLUTELY NO MORE..DO NOT BUY
After my frist use i had to clean the bottom from the steam, and all I was ironing was a pair of jeans.
I purchased the iron less than a month ago and it already start leaking water from the handle. I used the iron maybe once a week and only ironed one or two articles of clothing.
