I purchased three of these sensors. I can get all three to read off of one receiver. It took me a while to figure out how to configure the system so that it would work with my WiFi system. Two of the three work well. The third works sporadically. I overwinter my bonsai trees in various locations around my house. All areas are heated to various degrees based upon the hardiness of the trees. Some areas can't be allowed to go below freezing. This morning, we had a low in the single digits. The line of sight is important as well as the distance away the thermometer is from the receiver. Metal objects that are in the line of sight make it difficult for the receiver to pick up the signal, even fo distances l as than 35 feet.
The first step to set-up device you have to "register a gateway" with the manufacturer's server. My home Internet service is Verizon FIOS. When I connected the unit to the router the indicator lights signaled that it was connected to the server but the web site said it was not. I called the manufacturer's service department and they walked me through several reboots and attempts to register the gateway. Nothing worked so they sent me a replacement unit. That was nice, but the results with the replacement unit were the same. So, either I got two broken units in a row or this device cannot work with a Verizon internet account. Either way, I recommend you stay away.
