I used this shaver for the first time last night. First of all, I love the touch technology. I hate to shave, so this adds an element of fun to the experience. I used it on the shortest setting, even though my beard was a bit on the long side (for me). This saver made quick and easy work of it. It's lightweight and pretty sleak. I travel for work and the USB Charging capability is a huge plus for when I hit the road. I would definitely recommend this shaver.
Used this type of shaver for the first time, its easy to use and no worries of cuts etc that you typically notice with scissors. This product is good and saves lot of time and energy.
Very nice design no issues HOWEVER the instructions say Nickel-Metal Hydrid Batteries but the website say Lithium Ion ! I would not recommend to a friend until I received conformation that it is in fact a Lithium Ion Battery ! Ni-Metal-Hydrids are now obsolete ! ( To high of an internal resistance causing them to drain fast when not used ! )
This is rajesh. I used to trim my Beard by scissors which is not convent and have to put little foucs on it. but this product is amazing. it will save time and effort.
This Trimmer is better than my previous trimmer where precision is controlled by sliding button and had only 5 settings. This one has more precision levels. I have just started using this so not sure about Battery life.
I'm one of those guys who has the perpetual, but groomed, stubble. In the past, I'd use hair clippers with no guard to mow down my growth, but found that it was shorter than I'd like and really abrasive. This razor, with its continuous adjustment, gives me the option from 0.4mm [0.016 in] to 18mm [0.71 in] in 0.1 mm increments. Though I don't see the need for such precise adjustment, it's good to have one unit that can quickly change through the range of length. I settled on 3mm [about 1/8th inch]. It also has three speeds (I prefer the higher speed-seems to irritate the skin less). At first I thought the USB charging was a little bit of a gimmick, but I took it on a trip and was able to charge it via my laptop. It was nice to not have to lug around yet another charger. Only downside I found was that I forgot to lock it when I used it the first time and accidentally changed the length during the shave. I figured it out pretty quickly, but learn from my mistake and make sure to lock the length when you're using it. Pros: continuous variable length, easy to charge, three speeds Cons: make sure you lock the length before use
The touch panel is a bit gimmicky. The touch control is right where you hold the shaver, so you better use the lock switch if you want an even shave. The shave quality was pretty good. The plastic comb/cover thing is a nice idea for adjusting length, and so is the non-slip texture on the back of the device, but both seem to attract hair, so it requires a bit more cleaning. I saw the other reviews, and I have no complaints about battery life: I charged it once and have used it about 5 times. This last time, the battery does seem to have lost some power. Since it just sits in my bathroom and I rarely travel, it is not a problem for me to recharge it. The USB connector for charging is kind of nice, since I can probably use the same charger as my phone if I ever lost this one, or only bring one charger for both when I travel.
I have been using this trimmer for last 2 weeks. Upon opening the box , the trimmer looked fancy and stylish. I was thrilled to see that it had micro USB chord for charging it. That means while traveling I can charge it using my blackberry phone charger and I need not take 2 chargers along with me. It's touch control looks stylish and in theory can do incremental changes in length of beard trimmer. However ,in practicality , speed is fast and it is difficult to adjust the trimmer to desired length.Once you are able to adjust the length, just lock it for future trims. It does good job of trimming my beard. The battery life is not good and I guess it is because of touch feature. Bottom-line : There are better products in market.
Background: I have had beard / mustache for the last 15 years. It gets long, its gets in the way, it gets shaved. Along the way, I've tried scissors, four different electric razors or shavers and now this one. The Good: Packaging is excellent. Two small pieces of adhesive stickers keeping the box closed. Everything else is pressure fit or tab-in-slot. No tools, no fuss. The concept is great. An infinitely adjustable razor that lets you set the precise length you want at any time. The fact that you can lock the controls via an actual switch gives confidence that one half of your beard won't be a different length than the other. The Bad: The measurements on the razor are in millimeters. While I'm a huge fan of the metric system, I have little to no reference points about how long 3.8mm is, and whether that would be a good length for my goatee. Seeing that you can't really undo a bad shave, this feels a little uncomfortable. The guide that comes with the razor gives some guidelines for setting up the razor, but they are pretty wide-ranging spreads. The razor is adjustable in tenths of a millimeter increments, which would be fine if the controls worked a little more slowly. You end up blowing past the number you want, so you yo-yo up and down to get it close enough. The Strange: The unit charges with a mini-USB plug. This is awesome. If you have a Blackberry or an Android phone, odds are that you have the right charger already. The weird comes in with the addition of a USB to mini-USB cable. I'm guessing that Remington figured that you'd be taking this on the road with you, so you can always use your computer to charge the razor. It just seems strange. I was tempted to plug it into my laptop and see if I could upgrade it or something. Final Thoughts: I love the packaging and ease of unboxing. I appreciate the thought that went into the design and the feel of it in your hand. The controls make me a little crazy, so I'm recommending it with some reservations. Maybe your experience will be different.
Blade covers flex as soon as you apply the slightest of pressure resulting in an uneven cut and line(bald patches) everywhere!
