Its the first permanent basket I found shopping online. Keep on selling them please! !!!
I have the Hamilton Beach Easy Access 12-Cup maker and the top of the filter basket is round, but takes #4 cone shaped filters. I thought that would be a problem, but it wasn't. It worked fine though I noticed that some steam was coming out the top of the coffee maker.... so what I did was put the filter basket in while I was cleaning the coffee maker (running vinegar water through, then just water) and in between each cycle, I took it out and squeezed it into shape. Now I can't say that it's technically safe to heat plastic like that, but I felt fine doing it as it's BPA-free. The good news is it now fits perfectly and I've never had to do it again! I sometimes make only 1 or 2 cups at a time (my coffee maker has the option) but no matter how big or small, I never have grounds in my coffee like I do with some paper filters or reusable ones I tried in the past. I usually buy medium grind, but occasionally use a fine grind like Lavazza, and both work. There is no weird aftertaste and I find it helps cut the bitterness/sourness of the cheaper coffees (which are my "every day coffees"). It's very easy to dump and rinse. Just give it a squeeze/tap over the trash or compost, rinse, and it's ready to use again - but I also soak it in soapy water once a day to keep it clean. Every so often I run it through the dishwasher or soak in vinegar water to remove any build up (I have hard water). It's held up very well through very frequent use!
Very happy with this product. It is so much better than the one I had been using.
