We had a hard time finding monitors that didnt interfere with our wifi and many computers and electronics in our house. This one seems to do the trick! There is no interference and the sound is very clear. We are really happy with this purchase!
I have read the reviews just today and just wanted to let you know that i bought this item last May 2010 and it still works great today. We have a three level house and it works just great from the guest room (3rd level) and then i would be in the kitchen in the main floor... no complaints from me.. now it's on the playroom (2nd level) so we can hear the kids playing while i'm cooking . . .
We bought this monitor to use with our 3 year old because we moved into a house and our bedrooms are on different floors. So far it works great. We haven't experienced interference with our other wireless devices and the monitor kicks on in a timely fashion when my son makes even a small noise in his room. We are able to hear him just fine even with the monitor much further from his bed than the recommended 6 feet. Being able to talk back to him is a BIG bonus and helps minimize the trips up and down the stairs. Its a big hit and help in our family.
I bought this in Aug. of 10'. I have to say that my review may not clarify anything but here it is. When I plugged it in the first time I used another baby monitor adapter which moments later read that doing that voids your warranty. From the very first days of use it would spontaneously beep as if out of range. It was very infrequent and I thought maybe it was the stupid cord goof up so I kept it anyway. In the 1st year that we used it I loved it! It had great reception and sound quality and my husband and I used it as a walkie talkie when we needed to. I loved the small portable style of it. As time went by the beeping from out of range/disconnection signal became more frequent but was still useable. When it was about 13 months old it went haywire. It almost beeped none stop for disconnection and then very soon after that the sound coming out of the parent monitor became so quiet that you would have to hold it up to your ear. Then it only had sound about 25% of the time when I would wake up in the a.m. but never signaled for disconnection. Here is where I make things confusing. I loved the monitor so much when it worked properly that I am considering buying another of the same model! I have looked at other brands and don't feel that any meet up to the needs of our family and the features that I have come to know. I have read reviews from others and can relate in one way or another with the things they are saying good and bad. Still, I think that I will be purchasing it again. Would I recommend it..... well......not without including what I have stated to you!
This product did not work as expected. You could not hear the other person that well.
i previously owned a safety first monitor and it picked up every tiny sound and you could even hear it when u when stepped into another room and sadly one day it just wouldnt turn on. I was very excited when i ordered this product considering all the very cool features it had especially how slim and sleek it was, but the one thing that ruined it for me is it barely picks up sound, i pretty much have to hold it up to my ear and listen to know if the baby is awake. i dont believe that all the other cool features can make up for this major let down. i wouldnt recommend it.
I'm thinking about returning this monitor. The receiver isn't loud enough, it has to be within about 18 inches for me to hear. It loses it's signal way too often. It is not worth what it cost.
I would wake up in the middle of the night to the receiver beeping at me as if the baby's monitor had been turned off. It was plugged in so it wasn't dead batteries. Once in a while losing signal is no big deal but It started doing it multiple times a day. We stopped using it because of this. It was fine for a few months and then decided to act up. I did like that I could mount the monitor on the wall behind the crib, out of babies reach of course.
i'm so disappointed in this product. i could hear the baby crying in the next room and still couldn't hear anything over the monitors. the range is also horrible. it makes clicking sounds and loses signal when your in the next room!
