I have tried several monitors, and this is the only one that works. Great range, it's quiet unless the baby is crying, no static, good battery life, decent price.
I bought a different baby monitor, but it was making a lot of static noise. It was 900MHz technology. This Motorolla has DECT 6.0 technology, which provides clear sound. In my opinion DECT 6.0 and WI-FI technolgies better then FM. By the way this Motorolla is strongly audible.
I have been using this monitor for 4 months now, and I really do like it and this is why...my older son is 15 months, and I have a newborn who is 4 months...they sleep in separate rooms right now so that they do not disturb one another while sleeping etc...I have two sets of monitors one for each. I use this Motorola for my 15 mo old because as other reviewers have stated, it only picks up the louder noises in the room (and they don't have to be super loud, just don't expect to hear breathing or rolling over etc.... It works for the 15 mo old because I know that he can be trusted to sleep on his own, and in general I don't need to keep as close tabs on him as I would a newborn. I can still without mistake hear him talk, cry, cough and bang on the rails of the crib. For a newborn though, a much closer eye needs to be kept and I feel that another model (non-digital# works better, because they do pick up every little noise #breathing, movement etc...# and that is important with a tiny baby! So what I am trying to say is that if you are shopping for a monitor for your newborn, maybe this isn't the one for you, but it is a great monitor if you have a slightly older child and can trust their sleeping habits better. All in all, the sound quality is awesome, and they look nice, don't take up a lot of room, hold their charge at least all night #I always recharge every morning so I don't know how long it would actually go...), and so I would definately reccomend this monitor under the previously stated conditions!!!
This is by far the best baby monitor I have looked at. It is streamlined and extremely efficient. I would highly recommend this baby monitor to anyone looking for such a product.
While some users have complained that one can't hear much, we think this is a good thing. The digital nature of the device means that it's not constantly transmitting white noise through the speaker... just the nursery sounds that exceed an internal volume threshold (not adjustable). Our baby stirred frequently in our bedroom, constantly waking us while never waking himself. By placing him in his nursery crib to sleep with the monitor, we only hear his vocalizations (the louder grunts and coos) instead of his low volume stirs, allowing both baby and parents to sleep longer and deeper! One word of advice: if the monitor isn't picking up your desired sounds, move it closer to the baby. The simple clip on the transmitter allowed us to clip it directly to the crib rail and mere inches from our baby.
All that screaming coming from my grandbaby who is teething comes through loud and clear! Oh yes I can!---and---I am very glad. We sit in the swings in the pergola out on the lawn often and the signal carries quite strongly. I don't know how it would be for newborn babies as some reviews question, but seems to work well for my 9 month old and toddler g'babies. Good buy.
Granted I just picked this up yesterday and last night was the first use, but I though I would give it a review so people can see something. I was hesitant about buying this without any reviews because I have already had two baby monitors and my son is only three months old! I absolutely LOVE this monitor thus far. The only reason I did not give it four stars is because you have to hold down the power button to turn it on. Not a huge deal, but it would be easier if you could just turn it on without holding it. (I asked my daughter to turn it on and she couldn't figure it out so I had to go in there.) When we went to bed last night and I turned it on I was happy to see that it didn't have ANY static at all! I have the volume at three bars (in the middle) and heard my son as soon as he started crying. I love the parent clip that turns into a stand easily. I will let you know if anything changes, but so far I would say this is better than the Graco or the Sony that I tried!
This product doesn't work! It is too quiet and I can't hear anything with it. I wouldn't waste my money! It didn't even work in my driveway!
It looks great, slick and all but can't hear much. I had fisher price before and I was able hear my baby turn and toss but with this I only can hear her screaming for me…
