Love the crib. Is exactly what I expected. The drawer is a bit flimsy but will be fine for shoes and other light things. The instructions could have been a bit clearer but we got it together quickly anyway. The parts to covert to a toddler bed and day bed were included. Some places charge extra for these parts so that was nice.
I love this crib. It really brough tears to my eyes! This is our 2nd child.. a little boy this time. It was a little difficult for me to decide on a crib... but last minute picked this one. Pretty solid wood. Sturdy crib. Beautiful. Took my husand less than an hour to put it together.. no problems at all. We used Site-to-Store for the purchase and received it quickly. Pretty large box.. kind of akward. And about 80 or so pounds. Very well packaged.. no damage at all. I was impressed!
My husband & I just received this product last night for our daughter we are expecting in 8 weeks, and were able to put it together in under 2 hours. Be careful when assembling the product---the directions are a little confusing. The directions skipped a step and we realized that a separate bag with it's own directions for attaching the legs to the "headboard" & "footboard" should have been used before starting to put the crib together. We figured it out, though, and the crib is very sturdy, and the drawer is huge and will come in very handy for blankets & sheets. It's a very beautiful crib for the price, you can't beat free shipping, and it matches our other Oak storkcraft furniture. Overall I'm very pleased with the product, but I suppose the real test will be when she is using it!
My son and daughter-in-law live in a different state, and like all my other children I wanted to get them the crib for their first child, like I have done in the past with the other "first" grandchildren we have. The cost of shipping nawed at me tho. Once we decided to buy online and when they decided which crib they liked, I purchased it and had it sent to the Wal-Mart in their area. Ordering and delivery went smoothly, along with the pick-up from their local Wal-Mart store, In fact, the products came in earlier than promised. Since the product was sold online only I wasn't able to view it myself, I asked the kids if they pleased with the quality of the crib and if it was worth the price paid. The both said "oh, yes!" My son calls the crib the babies "Jungle Gym" because of the zoo animal theme with the bedding. See photo. Not Shown: There is a full length drawer for the bottom of the crib that hasn't been installed.
I am currently 5 1/2 months pregnant and me and my husband put this together in about 1 1/2 hours. It is a very pretty color and the storkcraft 4 drawer dresser and the combo unit all matched perfectly. It is tricky learning how to drop the side rail (you have to push in with your knee at the bottom to make it go down). The bed arrived with a couple of small scratches, but nothing that noticable. I am very pleased with it. Here's a couple of pictures of it (I made the bedding myself, but I did buy the material for it at Wal-Mart as well :) The only thing I don't like is that it seems like it might scratch up easier than a lot of furnature.
Nice crib. I read the reviews and researched cribs before we decided to get this one. It's a very nice looking crib. Seems to be pretty sturdy. Nothing is made like it used to be, so I guess I'm always dissapointed a little with the cheap made stuff and the seemingly high price! The drawer underneath was a lot smaller than I expected! It works great for holding a few baby blankets or other light weight things. It's not real sturdy. But, all in all it's a really nice crib, looks great and I would buy it again, given the choices that are out there!
So far I really like this crib, it's a great color, matches the room wonderfully. Assembly wasn't hard. I like that they have the directions permantely attached to the bottom part of the crib, so you don't have to hunt for them when it comes to convert the crib! I haven't put the drawer on it yet, but it still looks great. Overall pretty happy with it, will know more when my lil guy actually gets to sleep in it!
This crib was shipped well packaged! The box was dirty/torn/damaged but inside it is double boxed w/ styrofoam so the crib was still in perfect shape. When putting it together, I only got to the second piece because a screw hole was out of place by 1/4in! It was frustrating because I was so eager to get the crib together (my baby was already 2mos old and outgrowing his bassinet!), and the customer service said it would be another 4wks to send a replacement part. Grandpa was able to 'force' the screw to fit w/out damaging the crib too much, and the rest of it was put together w/out any problems. Very simple to put together, only took 30min after we fixed that one piece!! The crib and mattress support are very sturdy. Wood seems good quality. The one-hand drop rail is misleading because you also have to lean your lower leg into the bottom of the drop rail to get it to lower around the lock mechanism, but it is quiet and secure and works good. The wide part of wood on the back of crib makes it hard to tie a crib bumper, but it makes the crib look beautiful so I don't mind. We could only fit our mobile onto the drop rail because it won't fit on the wide top edges of the rest of the crib. Otherwise, I still am very happy with the crib, it is lovely and looks so cute all set up! It's a good crib for the price (although I would not buy online again because the shipping was so much--buy in store if you can). Very safe and sturdy. The bottom drawer is a plus also, slides very smoothly. And the fact that it comes w/ the extra conversion parts for the daybed/etc was nice!
Bought this crib, then went to the consumer product safety commision website and found that it had been recalled for a faulty mattress support bracket! I was really worried about that, having bought it without ever having seen it online. Box arrived somewhat damaged but the pieces were fine. The crib came with the replacement mattress support brackets as well as the recalled brackets. The replacement brackets look much more substantial and stronger. We put the crib together, and it seemed as strong as any of the other cribs we had looked at, so we are keeping it. The drop side works fine. The under crib drawer is a piece of junk. Our cat was playing in it, and the bottom is already falling out. Don't plan to use that for anything heavy.
We purchased this crib, and would have to say it is better than the accompanying "beatrice 5 drawer dresser", but am disappointed. I now know why you drive that extra 3 hours, to that expensive store to pay twice the money. We got it put together, after two hours, and then realized there is a flaw in the finish. I am going to contact Walmart to see about a discount, as it is very visible, once it is all together. If not, will have to decide whether to return or keep. At this point, walmart can have it put together, wouldn't go to the effort to take it apart. I call this a lesson learned, no more furniture from online.
