We love this crib. Our little one won't be here for a few more weeks but it is very beautiful. The wood is a little darker than the picture online but it is still great. It was very easy to assemble and came in great condition through site to store. Great product, great value :)
This crib looks great, is sturdy, and won't be recalled for a faulty drop side. I am very pleased for the price we paid. You won't be able to store anything under and you can see the bolts but that's okay with us. It is also quite easy to assemble. Take into account that you will need additional hardware (horizontal bars) for the larger bed. I also purchased the Storkcraft Lennox changing table, color oak and it makes a very nice kit. Delivery was as stated. It is very convenient to have the crib delivered to your home for an extra 25$. I do not regret my choice at all and I recommend this product.
This is THE best decision we made on purchasing a crib. This bed is very solid and of good quality, as is the matching dresser and rocking horse we bought with it. Our son has slept comfortably in this bed for two years now! It amazes me that the quality of this product matches that of any "high-end" retailer product for about a 1/4th of the cost! The only downfall is that it IS only a 2-1 conversion, but many say to skip the toddler bed stage anyhow and just get the full-sized bed side rails later...same purpose really.
The crib is very sturdy and super easy to put together! It looks really great in our nursery! The only part I could complain about is that you can't use bumpers in it when the mattress is in the highest position because it's too high to tie them on. But really the latest sids reports say not to use bumpers anyways so I guess no big loss. Baby is not here yet but I did 8 months of research before I settled on this one and it is by far the best crib for the price. It's just as sturdy as the fancy $400 cribs and really with a baby on the way who has the extra cash to waste?
We bought this crib along with the Rocking Horse and four drawer dresser from Storkcraft. The color was not what we expected, and varies between each piece of furniture. Though the color is labeled as "oak", we found it to be more of a cherry pine color. The dresser has a lot more of a red color to it, probably because it is pressed wood, and so takes the color differently. The crib itself is beautiful. It is very sturdy, and looks very elegant. It was easy to put together, and was packaged well. Our little guy will be born in about four weeks, and we are very anxious to put him to sleep in his throne-for-a-bed!
I had my doubts while putting it together, but after the placing of the final decorative top rails, the crib looks good. I was disappointed in the cheap piece of wood where the mattress is located, but this appears to more of a placeholder than actual support. Should be a nice bed when it is time to convert to a regular bed - no bed rails are included - you will have to get your own universal fitting rails. There is no side rail that slides up and down; the mattress supports will be lowered as the baby gets bigger. Free shipping with Site to Store saved lots of $.
I put this together myself while I was 7 months pregnant - it took about 2 hours, probably a lot less with 2 people. Very satisfying to self-assemble though! Really strong and sturdy design. I ordered it in oak and the shade is darker and richer than in the picture here, but it is a good looking piece of furniture. I would definitely recommend having 2 people to put the base section in, although I handled it by myself by resting the base shelf on top of a box. Handy instructions located permanently on the base shelf. I thought it was a pretty good deal for a convertible crib, as the wood is solid and the design is a really nice balance between traditional and modern.
We received this crib as a baby gift from family in NJ (We're in AZ). It was sent Site-To-Store. The Site-To-Store process was very easy. The only thing is that the box is pretty big so if you have a car like ours (2003 Toyota Corolla, CE) you better have a roof rack to tie it to. Or get help getting it home in a minivan. As for the assembly, my husband did all the work. He said it was easy to put together and only took about a half hour to 45 minutes to do. It is good to get the crib out of the box early to let it off gas (the crib wood has a "smell" to it. We found it to be pretty sturdy and would recommend this product to others. We are also pleased with the oak finish. It matches our decor very well.
I was so worried about the color since I was trying to match other oak furniture. Sure enough, as I expected, this crib is not the color pictured. It looks more like pine with that painfully familiar orange tint. I'm curious as to why they call it "oak" too since it is neither made of oak or does it resemble oak. It did go together easily for my handy husband but does not come with dowels to hide the large screws (notice in picture). This drives my hubby bananas! It seems very sturdy so I'm keeping it (and because I dont want to bother shipping back and don't trust I'll find anything better). Overall, you get what you pay for.
The value was great but the cams that hold the front and back rales on snap, they are not made of metal, something softer because. It is easy to put together though only took about an hour. It came damaged, the two front side post and when we called for replacements they never came and we ended up putting it together anyway, the baby came earily. My baby is 11 months old and the wood is very soft so any of his toys ding the wood. It is very beautiful but will not last more than one child.
