bought this turntable to convert all my old records to be put on computer. works great. anyone from the old days who still has records needs to buy this.
Great sound!!! abd very cool design. However, audio port are very short from the turtable to any receiver. I had to extend them (red and white audio ports). Overall a great sound and easy to copy your songs to Itunes. Self explanatory and easy to set up. Happy with my USB turntable
Read all the reviews before I bought this turntable. I had no problem setting this up and the sound quality is excellent. As some of the reviews have stated "Read the Instructions" Take the cover off the stylus, and plug it into your Aux not Phono Jack. I put on a old record and it sounded great, just ordered some brand new records and can't wait to hear what they will sound like. Believe me, for the money you can't go wrong!!! You can order the needles right from Ion for $20.00 for 2.
I love this. It was extremely easy to hook up. Played my first record and recorded it within 10 minutes. What a great way to eliminate stacks of LP's. Once I am finished recording all my records, and not losing my memories, I will be able to sell or donate them. Very easy to use.
A great way to resurrect lost music from old vinyl. When digital versions are available, it's better to buy the downloads but for out of print rare gems, this is the way to go!
Went to Wal-mart today to pick up a few things and this caught my attention, particularly since I have a HUGE LP collection. Was debating between this and on in a box form, so I gave this a shot. And man, I don't regret 1 dollar I spent on this fine work of art! Not only can you convert your LPs to CD, but cassettes as well!!! Definitely worth the money very well spent!!!
The packaging the turntable came in was outstanding - impressive enough to comment on here. The quality of the turntable itself was quite good, better than I expected actually. It looked well designed and solidly built for the price. I especially liked the dual-magnet stylus! I purchased this product for two reasons. One, to record LPs to my computer, and two, to LISTEN to them! The unit only has LINE OUT connections due to the "built-in" preamp. Well, I had just listened to an album on a Crosley unit and I was blown away by how "live" the music felt. NOT SO with this unit. The music came out sounding like all CD music... DIGITIZED. Gone were the overtones,, nuances of the drum sticks sliding across the drum head, the fingers of the guitar players brushing the body of the guitar. Yeah, that's what you miss out on digitized, MP3 music. I play 'em just like most folks, but if I put a needle to a record, I want to hear it VIBRATE! I've ordered this: "Audio Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt Driven Turntable" which will plug right into the phono inputs of my old dinosaur tuner/amplifier and hopefully, I'll be back in the "middle of the band" again. I think the ION unit is very good product, just not what I was looking for... JCK
Can't beat it for $100. Got the cheaper ceramic cartridge model first, but returned it because the sound on the digitized MP3 was lousy. This one works well, divides tracks into separate files and the burned CDs sound like they were store bought. Worth the extra $$$ for the better model.
The turntable seems to be of excellent quality and easily transferred the vinyl records to digital format. I had assumed that the accompanying software would help filter out pops and hisses and some of the scratches. A separate audio filtering program will be required to salvage mistreated or neglected albums.
I expected the software to do a better job of eliminating noise, and there are tracks that are not separated when using the automatic mode. Setup was fairly easy once I configured my sound card. I would recommend this unit with the reservations as outlined. With better software I would rate this unit higher as the turntable seems to be fine
