I purchased iHome Portable MP3 when I saw oneuse at work. I was so impressed by the quality of the sound and the portability of the device that I orderd one for myself. Luckily I tried it with my Blackberry, and I am very much flabergasted. I call it my music extension...I can use it in my garage, adn be able to use my phone at teh same time. It is so obedient to my telephone. If the call comes in, themusic stops, I finish my conversation, and music begins. So much of a good stuff. Specialk
I've had this little ihome for my iPod for a year now and love it! I use it mostly in the kitchen while I'm making dinner. Projects sound nicely and battery usage is great. (I've only had to change the batteries in it twice in the year I've had it). I highly recommend it!!!
This is just what one needs if they wish to listen to music while on lunch without the use of headphones. They're not really super loud, but they do the job. By all means buy them if this is what you need.
I needed something reasonably priced that would hold my Sony Walkman but I did not want to sacrifice sound. This unit is small, light weight and sounds great. Now I don't like to listen to music so loud that you can't hear each other talking and this was just what we needed. My wife and I use this when sitting outside at night. It's small so it doesn't take up a bunch of space on the table. The sound it delivers is great. I would definitely recommend this item and already have! (takes three AA batteries)
I've noticed on a couple sites that people rate this product down and not sure why. This is a small speaker and quite honestly its a lot louder IMO than many Ipod speakers. It uses batteries but you get hours and hours out of them. They last longer than the average digital camera. You obviously won't get good bass out of it but what do you expect for this price. I'm thinking about buying 3 or 4 more of these.
I bought this because I wanted something to listen to my ipod without having headphones on at work. Sound quality is actually pretty good, much better than I thought it was going to be. I don't think it should be $20 but I guess everything seems more expensive these days. Picture is deceiving as there is no actual dock that your ipod sits in, rather a cord that wraps around from the back and a hole that the ipod doesn't even fit in, to sit it on front.
I'm surprised at the reviews that say this has good sound quality. I get much, much better sound quality out of the cheap earbuds that came with my player. That said, for the price it's not bad. I found that if you go in and change the DNSe to R&B you get a richer sound, closer to what I'm used to. Use rechargeable batteries because it goes through them pretty quick. As one review mentioned, this is not a cordless dock as the rather deceptive picture implies. You plug it in like you plug in the earphones, so the cord is sticking out, of course. My stick-style samsung yp-u5 fits in the little slot in the front just fine which is very nice. If it didn't, balancing the mp3 on the little rim would be a bit precarious. Volume must be cranked way up on your mp3. This is meant to sit right next to you on your desk, not fill a room with sound. Good for the price. What you would expect from a $20 speaker.
It was OK for a while, but then it just got worse. Everytime I tried to turn the volume high (like 3/4 or 4/4), the sound got all scratchy. Now my iPhone's volume is louder. If you want a speaker for just in a room or office, then get this but if you're looking for a speaker for something like at a pool or party, get something else.
I have purchased two of these now. Both were returned within the first 30 days. Don't know what happened, they got real scratchy sounding after awhile. Only used a regular iPod on it. Very impressed at the start but failed me in the long run. Bought a cheaper one and so far so good. Been 2 mos now and not scratchy yet.
I bought this product from the store so I could not read a description and it was all packaged up with no list of what's included. I had no idea that you cannot plug it in. I bought this to use at work, so running it off batteries for 8 1/2+ hrs a day isn't ideal. I am returning it.
