this is well worth the price i cant belive the sound
Just bought this for my 7 year old so he doesn't wear his headphones so much. It works great! Has a great sound and the front holds his MP3 player. Can't beat the value for the price. I just wish it was rechargeable. Although I'm sure the price would be more for that.
I'm so glad I found this particular design for my Ipod Touch. Other designs don't allow you to watch the Ipod horizontally in order to watch videos. Since all videos on the Ipod Touch plays on its side, you have to find something like this where it allows you to sit it anywhere. I put in 4 AA rechargeable batteries of my own, closed the cover, plugged it into my Ipod, turned the speaker switch to on, and the sound blasted out so well, I am deaf in right ear so this really helps when I'm in the kitchen cooking or taking a bath etc...I can relax now and still hear it. It doesn't take up space and it's light but it won't fall or slide around. I have a Sena leather case on my Ipod along with a plastic wrap around that to hold the Pogo Stylus I purchased separately and it stays on the ledge while playing so I don't have to remove the Ipod case to use this. Cannot ask for anything better. It doesn't charge the IPOD, it's simply a speaker, but I don't care, for $19 I can hear the sound loudly now.

The box and the description say the speaker is for any ipod or mp3 player. Only a shuffle works in the docking area and that should be clear on the website. Even when you go to the ihome website it tells you it is for a shuffle. It still works fine, my 11 year old just lays her larger ipod flat against the speaker. For a 11 year old whose taste will change before the end of the year it works fine.
ITS WHAT I WANTED, I JUST WISHED THAT IT WAS A CHARGER ALSO...
