I like the vegan ingredients and the way it cleanses my hair. :)
Love the quality, scent and price. I use it in homemade shampoo, general cleaning and hand soap. So glad I found it here.
Use it as a hand wash, face wash, to clean makeup brushes. So versatile. Love it.
So glad I found an alternative to Dr. Bronners, in terms of price. This product smells AMAZING. I have used it to clean my house, as well was a shampoo and body wash mixed with coconut oil. Can't beat the price as well!
I have tried several hand soap products and was very happy to find one that was natural, at an affordable price and effective for hand washing, cleaning my counters and doing dishes. I marked the effectiveness as a four because the product states that you can use it to clean your face and do your laundry...I have not tried it out for these uses yet but am sure once I do, I would change the effectiveness to a 5. Be sure you like the smell of almonds!! Which I do. : )
Like using Castile soap because of its vegetable base; but some brands are rough on the skin. I did not find this to be the case with Dr Woods.
I think this is the best smelling soap I've smelled so far. Almost good enough to eat! That being said, how it works is more important. I got is as a face wash and it leaves my skin feeling clean. It is a bit drying, but quickly remedied with olive oil. It foams easily and is a thin soap. Overall, I find it to be a good product with many different uses and at a value price. I even got free shipping from Pharmapacks without any additional purchases.
AS WITH OTHER SOAPS OF THIS NATURE I FIND IT TO BE TOO STRONG AND STRINGENT FOR MY PERSONAL USE. I DO LIKE IT QUITE FINE FOR CLEANING.
Before using, there's a discrepancy with the ingredient list. The almond oil is actually a blend of essential oils like cherry mixed with the almond oil, or maybe there's no almond oil but there's the blend of oils, according to a staff member of the product company. It's labeled as "natural almond fragrance" but the product label states "pure almond oil." Whatever the actual makeup of the oil or oils, the scent of this soap is of cherry, not overpowering and doesn't linger. Two oils-- coconut and olive are listed in the description of the product; however, hemp oil is listed along with these two oils without description of purpose. I find that this soap isn't as moisturizing as I'd like it to be. Furthermore, my search still continues for a better quality of castile soap that moisturizes and lathers well. The second issue is the thin consistency of this soap, creating a slightly decent foam when using more than a nickel size, half a dollar size and greater. I've used this soap for bathing, for facial cleansing and for washing my hands. It cleanses okay without drying the skin but it doesn't impart moisture into the skin. Sometimes the weak lather puzzles me about the soaps's cleaning power, especially since about a third, more instead of less, has been used due to the weak lather. The lather compares to the lather of bar soaps when it's tiny and doesn't lather like the larger bars of soap. The color is a faint amber color, close to clear. I rather try a better product.
The ingredients have changed. It no longer has Bitter Almond Oil, but natural almond fragrance. I will return this as it is just not as good. It would have been nice if Swanson would have updated the ingredients.
