Easy to setup if you follow instructions. Not as easy to setup as a PC wireless adapter though. I believe the price of the adapter is way out of control. Xbox/Microsoft have definite monopoly here as I tried a wireless adapter for a PC and no go. :( According to my son, it works very well and downloads from Xbox just fine giving us the latest greatest that Xbox can give for Free including upgrade to the O.S. (operating system).
I don't have much to say about this product. It does what it's supposed to and was a great deal online. I had trouble finding it in the store, and I was able to get it site to store in no time at a great price.
The wireless in my house is hit-or-miss but this wireless adapter has been continually satisfying. There was one time when I could not connect but after about four seconds (literally) it connected. It has surpassed my expectations and I recommend it to everybody who wants the onilne experience without the hassle of the cable.
This item works wonders. It works faster and looks better than having a ugly ethernet cord run through your house to the router just to get on Xbox Live. I purchased mine online this week because it was on sale. If I were you i'd buy it now instead of waiting when it goes back to $99.
Except for the high price, this wireless USB adapter makes all of your internet needs. I have this and it works great. It automatically finds all the data and codes for you. It isn't like other consoles where you manually have to enter the info. I recommend this if you don't have access to ethernet connection.
This product was easy to set up/easy to use. It's a plug & play system that literally takes a couple of minutes to set up and then you're done. The adapter gives me a great signal and little to no delays when connecting to my router. I have not had any problems with this product to date.
Found the product easy to set up to my wireless network and made my xbox a "real" entertainment machine with the ability to access my home computer and look at the libarary of pictures and videos on my computer. Also to utilize other features of my xbox such as xbox live and my existing netflix account to watch instant movies. A very valuable piece of hardware to have to break free of the "wired" world and join the wireless generation. Has exceeded my expectations and was well worth the money. Two thumbs up overall!!
The one I purchased via the internet would not establish a connection. I took that one back to the store for an exchange and the new one works great. I had no problem setting it up whatsoever. Very user friendly.
I have been using the XBOX 360’s wireless adapter since the XBOX 360 came out and I don't have any major complaints. Physical Appearance: The adapter is small and the antenna is adjustable. It clicks on the back of the XBOX 360 and the HD-DVD player add-on. I also has a red or green LED to let you know if it's working ok Wireless Performance: Once you get all your network settings in place this adapter's performance is great. It works great with 802.11g and 802.11b networks with or without encryption. (I haven't tried it with 802.11a.) Your range will be dependent on the router mostly. My friend’s Linksys router is closer than my Buffalo router and the range is worse on his network. Ease of Use: This is where I've noticed the biggest faults with the device. When you are first setting up the adapter it has a tendency to not be picked up by the 360 at first. I usually have to turn the machine on and off a couple of times to get it “see” the adapter. After that I usually don't have any issues, it only happens when I first plug it into a 360. Another gripe is the annoying way Microsoft makes me type in a 26 digit hex key with that crummy on screen keyboard. An alternative like the PS3's number pad style keyboard would be nice. This isn't the fault of the device, but I thought I'd mention the annoyance. Overall I'm pretty happy with the adapter. On less wire in my living room is always a good thing.
I have a Belkin wireless N MIMO access point router in my house (backwards compatible with G). Wireless B is the slowest throughput, the latest standards of G are nearly as fast as wireless A, but the biggest difference occurs with the 2.4gh vs. 5 ghz frequency. My house was built in the 50's it is block and rebar construction----a difficult kind of building for wireless already and then you add interference caused by household appliances (i.e. the microwave) on the 2.4 ghz frequencies and you've got a recipe for a bad connection. If you're in a old house like I am you should see better connections with a 5 ghz wireless A unit. I have a A access point in a box and I'm thinking about trying to set it up just for the 360 to use but so far my connection seems quite acceptable using this interface: I haven't tried wireless local networking several boxes that would be a much more intense connection in all probability. Microsoft should either provide the ability for the 360 to use the Belkin N MIMO usb adapter (heck I'd pay microsoft points for a driver for a third party wireless driver) or come out with their own that can take advantage of my brand new router to it's full capabilities. I have not seen any lag or anything yet, satisfied with it but it would be better if they came out with different models to support the newest standards (IE wireless N MIMO).
