It seems that a lot of the reviews under 4 stars are just people who don't understand or need this product. Let me clarify for anyone wanting to purchase this. It is an HDMI cable with an AV cable adapter. If that doesn't make sense then I will do a simple wikipedia for you. The high tech cable thingy has plugs for the red and white tips on your headphone cable thingy. So you can listen to the pretty sounds through your headphones and look at the shiny colors with the high tech cable. If you don't have the headphones or a place to plug in the high tech cable then DO NOT BUY. Simple right? Great product and if you know how and when to use it then its the way to go. “I am Justin. I speak for the accessories. I speak for the accessories for the accessories have no tongues.”
This is a usefull product if your system did not already come bundeled with it(the first Elites from the price drop without the games included this). At my store you can find the same length cord provided for about $20. If you have a home theartere system the audio reciever is a must. This accesory is also required if you plan to use gaming headsets such as the Turtle beach or skull candy headsets while using the HDMI cord. It is not an HDMI adapter as some people thought, though such a product did exist but is hard to come by. This product is a nice add on for serious gamers who use the stereo headsets and have an HDTV or for individuals who can't have their tv speakers on late at night(Have the stereo headsets in and just mute the tv and your set).
If you have an Elite 360, this gives you the option to used headphones (like the turtle beach) when you are using an HDMI cable to attach the 360 to the TV. Product is a little pricey for what it does ... but thats Microsofts fault, not Walmart.
this is the perfect product if you are hooking up you x-box to a hi-def system and need to use a fiber-optic Av connection. I had to have this so i could use an HDMI cable from the x-box to my 42"wide-screen, and hook up the turtle beach gaming headphones. so I would recommend this cable kit to anyone doing the same...
If you only want an HDMI cable then you DO NOT need this accessory - you can purchase any appropriate HDMI cable. However if you want to utilize the optical audio jack on your Xbox and connect it to your AV receiver to get a full 5.1 experience, then this is required. Why? Because the current optical audio jack is on the component cable and the connector jacket partially covers the HDMI jack on the Xbox (poor design by Microsoft), so you can't use both. This kit includes an HDMI cable (not needed if you have one) and an audio adapter with a smaller connector jacket that does not cover the HDMI jack. If you want to take advantage of your hi-def TV, and you have a surround sound receiver with optical audio, this set-up works great. The sound and the picture are phenomenal! Now theoretically you can take the connector jacket off of the original component cable and get the HDMI cable to properly fit. I simply did not choose to do that.
This kit includes an hdmi cable, and an audio adaptor that plugs into the A/V port. It simply allows you to run optical, or Analog Stereo sound to a component seperate from your monitor/tv. We don't all have an audio reciever with HDMI pass-though. And computer monitors with DVI inputs are much more common than ones with HDMI. The thieves at microsoft arranged the ports on the back of the xbox so that you cannot run an HDMI and the stock AV cables at the same time. I use my computer monitor via an HDMI/DVI conversion cable. This leaves me with no sound, therefor I have to either modify my stock AV cable by cracking the bulky plastic off of the plug, OR spend 50 bucks on this cable set up. Much safer to go with the 50 bucks.
Works great with my stereo/surround sound receiver and when I plug in a stereo headset. The picture is perfect on my hdtv.
This HDMI cable would be excellent. It's only compatible for flat/widescreen TVs however. It's delivers high quality and HD picture good up to 720p and 1080p.
I picked up the HDMI AV Cable for our new 32" LCD Sony Bravia. And I had no issues with this product. It hooked right up. It also as advertised, made the picture and sound both wonderful through the Xbox 360. I read some of the other reviews, and I don't understand what the complaints are about. Mainly about the cable they got with the Xbox 360 not being much of a difference. But if you're like me, and didn't get the HDMI cable with your Xbox 360 when you bought it.. pick this up. It DOES work!
This is not an HDMI adapter for an XBOX 360. It is strictly a HDMI cable packaged with an audio adapter for your XBOX 360. *Which means it only works with XBOX 360's that currently have an HDMI port on the back of them. *It does not ADAPT an HDMI port to your XBOX 360* So as far as I am conserned, if you have an XBOX 360 that already has an HDMI port on the back of it this product is a waste of money. It does nothing that a standard HDMI cable wouldnt do and it costs 5 times as much as a standard HDMI cable...
