Turtle Beach X4 headphones have helped me out in many cases when im playin my war games on my xbox 360. ie.. it helps me hear where people are on a map when they walk or shoot so it gives me the sideline advantage over everybody because i know where they are but they dont know where i am. It also brings out the sound in many different games like Guitar Hero, Skate, Halo Wars, and even when im watchin DVDs. When i watch DVDs its like im in the movie theater with these Dolby 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speakers.
Though there is a slight hiss in the background during silence it is because of the wireless connectivity. Having that said with the sound quality and realism of the surround sound and great bass the hizz is totally outwayed by the greatness of this headset. I'm very pleased I purchased these headphones and will never go back to anything else. Great at night when you want to play but don't want to disturb others. One more note would be to absolutely purchase rechargable batteries for these heaphones because they only last for 20hrs of continuous use.
The x4 is probably the best headset you are going to find for the Xbox 360. Plus the $170 price tag on walmart.com is the best price i found online but i couldnt wait for shipping so i went out and bought them. If you are thinking about the x3 just spend the extra $ to get the 5.1 surround sound that the x4 has. The surround sound lets you hear things you never did before. If you play Call of duty or shooters its worth hearing where the enemies exactly are. There is a slight white noise sound you can hear when nothing is going on.(Ex:xbox dashboard screen)but it is not noticable otherwise. It says this happens with plasma tv's only but i have a LCD and it still does it. If you are a serious gamer this headset is worth it.
This headset is by far the best investment i have made when it comes to online gaming. The product is definitely as promised. If you are a first person shooter and want a true surround sound experience, then this is the product to buy. I did a lot of research before buying this item and read a few negative reviews stating there is a hissing noise or interference. Boy was that a lie. There is absolutely no interference whatsoever and i have crystal clear surround sound. I can hear absolutely everything and even have great depth perception when it comes to each game. I can even tell where enemy targets approaching from. I can hear their footsteps around corners exactly to the inch. When a gunshot is mad from across the map that echoes, i know exactly where it came from everytime. If you want to raise your gamer score and have a better online experience this headset is the best way to go. Not to mention it is completely wireless. What more can you ask for in a headset.
I was hesitant at first to throw so much money down on this product, but I eventually gave in when I got a little extra cash. I am very happy I did. Not only can I game now without disturbing the neighbors and waking my wife and daughter, but the sounds I can hear in game now are fantastic. When I first used them I was noticing sounds that I hadn't previously; some ambient, some part of the sound effects, and others where just normal sounds that were much clearer. The experience was much more immersive. Overall the product seems to really deliver on its promises. 1) You definitely get a full sorround sound effect that can trick you into thinking the sound is filling the room [i know that sounds corny but its true]. 2) There is [as far as I can tell] no lag or delay between the visual I see and the sound accompanied with it. 3) The bass boost is deep and full but not annoying and noisy. I like the way they fit on my head, because usually I can't wear headphones for too long before my ears start hurting. Surprisingly I have the freedom to move around the room without totally loosing the signal [although it does degrade some if you move too far away and cuts out altogether if you are more than 30 feet away and off at an angle]. The chat seems to work fine; my friends don't have any problems hearing me and vice versa, although I'm not sure how much I need to hear my voice coming in through the speakers. But if I didn't have it I would probably wish I had. The battery life seems really effecient too. I used them about every other day, about 3 to 4 hours at a time, for about a month before the batteries even started to affect the sound [bass boost on the whole time too]. Anyway, this product is great and I really enjoy it. It even comes in handy for watching movies in surround sound. The downside of course is the price but if you game alot and/or watch alot of movies, I think its worth it. If you game casually or you're not that concerned with surround sound for movies then this probably isn't for you.
This new X4 Headphones works perfectly. The transmitter plugs right in to your Xbox 360 console. You can now chat and listen to anything using these elite headphones. Buy this today for $200.
I like these headphones, but the product did not indicate that you need an HD AV cable in order to hook up the headphones. I had to purchase the cable for an extra $30.
I just unpackaged these today and after about 2 hours of messing with the wires I finaly figured out there are protective plastic caps on the fiber optical wire for the digital sound. (duh) unfortunately nowhere in the decription does it say that plasma tvs cause interference with these headphones the manual that comes with it will decribe this but if you have a plasma tv and a small room I would suggest getting the wired headphones to keep the buzzing out of your ears. but other than the light buzzing these are great headphones and will see many nights of use.
If you are one of those gamers who lives with other people(AKA every gamer) you'll certainly appreciate this. There is a faint hiss that is unlike other headphones in this price range and that's my only gripe about it. Battery life is in the upwards of 20 hours and the 5.1 is fantastic. Certainly a recommended product.
This item was a good choice. It has worked good so far. But I did encounter one problem upon setting it up. It made a buzzing sound unless you were sitting with the receiver at head level. It took me some time to figure the problem out. But since doing so found that it is an excellent set of headphones. The price is a little steep but if you have a gamer in the family it is well worth it.
