The only problem I had was from shipping. I had it delivered and the box was pretty beat up. The plastic housing that surrounds the elliptical wheel was cracked on the bottom and the side disk was broken. I contacted Pro-form and they immediately sent me new parts at no cost, this is a great value. I am handy so I can take it apart and replace the parts, but others may not be so handy and may need help. Excellent valve and no problems with the design, works great!
I used to workout at a gym daily...running 5 miles on the elliptical each day! I desired a nice and smooth riding elliptical for my home...not jerky motions like some of my friends have in their ellipticals. This elliptical has been GREAT! I love my workout on it...the speakers, fan, built-in workouts...it is all great! The only thing I don't like about it would be that I have to physical change the incline to the level I want. At least it is easy to change by simply getting off of it and pushing a button with my thumb...lifting/sliding the incline track up or down to the level I want...and then release the button to lock it into place. Putting it together was fairly easy with the great detailed instructions and nicely labelled parts.
I've only had this elliptical for about a week, but so far, I am so glad I purchased it! It seems really sturdy and is pretty quiet. It took about 2.5 hours to assemble and it requires 2 people, but it isn't a difficult assembly at all (I was anticipating it to be much more difficult), just time consuming. I love the different features it offers and I'm really glad I went with a machine that has a 20" stride; also, it's fairly heavy, but the wheels make it really easy to move around. All in all, I've been really happy with it!
It took about two week to be delivered to Walmart. Picking up was fast and easy. It took my husband about four hours to put together himself. He wanted it perfect and took his time. It is a solid machine - does not wobble or squeek. It has challenging workouts at different levels and different resistance. I like the fan and the MP3 option - it has a speaker - and you control the volume - which is really nice. I am happy with my purchase.
As a disclaimer, I've only had this machine for 2 weeks. And was skeptical about getting an elliptical then having to put it together myself as well as the quality/sturdiness of the unit once assembled. However, I was very impressed at the quality - both in terms of features (fan, built-in speakers, Ifit) and stability. It was difficult to put together but as an athletic woman, I was able to do it without assistance. I've used it every day so far and have experienced zero issues. So far, so good!
The pros: quiet, compact, easy to put together (I am single and not that mechanically inclined and put together with help of 10 year old son in 3 hours), gives a GREAT workout!!! I am 5'4" and weigh 140 lb and the stride is great and yes you have to change incline manually but soooo easy! Takes like a second to do so. Cons: says that it is ipod compatible but it is not, only mp3 port. but you can wear headphones and place iphone/ipod on holder. I had it shipped to store and OMG soooo heavy, it took 4 people to place in my car. It read as 210 lb. So when we got home, it tore box in car and brought into house piece by piece. The base, the heaviest part, I slowly dropped on cardboard and my son pushed while I pulled into house. So heavy. Make sure you use all lubricant!!! I don't think I did and it is smooth but I wonder if I put more lubricant if it would not be so challenging. Even at level 1, it's a killer workout. I love love love this machine. It is soo cool. Working all week and being a single parent I have no time for gym and being home is a luxury for me, so going to the gym is not gonna happen. I cancelled my membership and got the elliptical, what a great decision! And I can workout when my son goes to bed and it's so quiet. Love it! Best decision ever. P.S. MY 10 YEAR OLD SON USES IT EVERY DAY TOO!!!!
After considerable amount of effort to get this large/heavy box into basement I unpacked all of the parts. I found 4 pieces of the plastic to be broken that house the flywheel. Called Pro-form (on hold for 20 min before talking to a rep) and they sent out 3 of the 4 pieces very quickly, the last piece was on back order. After waiting 7 buisness days called back and piece still on back order. Packed up the machine and returned to Wal-Mart as I was ready to start working out. Very large hassle for 0 return.
Very heavy box appears to be well made however the correct parts were not in the box. The company does not make phone calls and only wants to correspond via email. Did not apologize for not sending one of the main componets of the machine and no shipping estimate on when we will receive the correct part from them. Can not assemble or use until we get the 5 foot part that was missing that propels the machine. Wal mart.com was great but the company that manufacturers the machine not very professional.
the parts are already broken when I got it, very disapointing.
I opened the box and the bottom frame of the elliptical was cracked. Now I have to call ProForm to get replacement parts. This is very disappointing!
