It definitely is not comparable to the machines in the gym, but it is a great machine for the home. For the price, I feel I got a great deal. The equipment is sturdy and good quality, and doesn't take up alot of room. You get a good workout on it. Many different programs. I would definitely recommend.
I love the programmed workouts, and the encouragement from Jillian Michaels, and I love that it has an included fan

When I ordered this j thought wow details sounded good and price was higher then most but said it was compatible to iPod and many workouts . I bought and my lovely husband set it up. I used it and right away . Not much room to place iPhone, squeaks and raddled a lot . It seemed like such an effort to build I couldn't ask to send it back. Love the workouts that are programmed,but didn't feel as safe to use for long . So disappointed. I really wated to love it .
I used my elliptical device a total of 6 times....it started clicking. We took the mechanism apart and requested help via email from Proform's customer service to repair it. First customer service never responded back and we had to call a week or so later. Secondly we were told the part would cost $100. Very expensive for a machine that only cost $350 to begin with. Needless to say THIS MACHINE IS A LEMON. I would strongly suggest you purchase something else.
