The unit is a little larger than I thought however it is an excellent desktop calculator for basic needs. For <$20 it's also a great price. Just know, tt does not have the quality of a traditional HP calculator. The keys do not have that trademark HP calculator feel but thats OK given the price. I highly recommend recommend it. I use the 50g for real work at home and with the kids but at my office desk where I do basic calculations the HP OfficeCalc 200 is an excellent choice. If you're in need a a basic desktop calculator with a big read out and large keys, this should be your choice.
This product is just what it says, a good basic office calculator. Probably more than you'll ever need at home. If you like just keeping a running tab, buy one with a paper roll. Buttons are cheaper than usual. I own several HP Products. There is an on button but no off, that is automatic. Dual power operated.
Although I was looking for a basic calculator, none had 14 digits as I required. Very nice for the price. More features than I'll ever use. I like the fact that it is solar powered with battery back up. I didn't know that when I bought it but a nice feature.
I read about all the different calculators and this one had everything I wanted and was priced well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because if it has an off switch I couldn't find it. It appears that it goes off automatically after 7 minutes of non use. I'd prefer to turn it off immediately.
I like this calculator because of the additional information it provides. Numbers and the study of numerical sequences is what drove me to purchase this product. It took me a week to get used to it (having used twelve digit calculators in the past). If you are a "numbers" person, you'll love it.
