Old spice recently changed their Fresh scent and it's horrible. I tried calling and asking why and was basically told I'm only one person so who cares if I don't like it. Although clearly I'm not the only one that think it needs to be changed back! Please listen to the consumers. That's basic business sense.
Unfortunately I am no longer a customer. I used this scent and brand for as long as it has been on the market and then suddenly, they changed the scent and it makes me smell like I am wearing women's antiperspirant. Until they change it back, I have moved on to a competitor product.
Please let us know if you re-release the original fresh scent with the clear cap, the new red cap smell is too "old-spicy." I used this product for years and after buying the red cap version I went back to the store in search of a different brand, looked like a fool opening up all the deodorants in the aisle trying to find something similar to the older version with no luck...
I've been using this deodorant for years and it was by far the best smelling and best proof against sweating. Just yesterday I bought the updated look with the red cap. Bad news. The scent has changed for the worst. It smells bad! I don't understand who approved this changed. I am really disappointed. It was also encouraging to see other customers had the same experience.
After years of using this scent the formula has been changed without notice. Bad move old spice. Whatever cost savings you calculated will be unrealized with lost customers. My wife told me I smelled like an old man. I've switched to another brand.
The new formula that you switched too has ruined an awesome product. The new formula clumps and is gritty or dry, but also releases a watery emission at times. It is almost like the formula is not maintaining its initial mixture and separating in the deodorant stick. This is very disappointing and has caused me to search for a new deodorant brand for the first time in my 29 year life.
I didn't appreciate how much I relied on the old formula until it suddenly changed earlier this year. The new formula appears to be less effective as an antiperspirant and has a much more powerful scent (NOT in a good way). But you win, P&G: if the old product comes back at a higher price, I'll probably buy 50 of them immediately and stockpile them away.
The new red caps have a new scent to go along with it and it is HORRIBLE. My husband has been using this product for years and the recent change has caused him to switch brands. Neither one of us could stomach the new scent. It's a shame that they are losing customers over this. They need to bring the old scent with the clear caps back.
Like the majority of you here, I had been using this product for over a decade. However, in the spring of 2015, unbeknownst to us, Old Spice changed the formula of this beloved product. Not only was the effectiveness of this product compromised, but the change in scent was most aptly described as nauseating. Over the months that followed, an outpouring of bewildered customers took to Old Spice's website to voice their concerns and questions. But nothing was ever heard in response. For awhile, I myself was shocked that Old Spice would not take action at seeing such a once popular product be rated 1 star on their website. But after a trip to Walmart today and a quick glance at their website, I see that they have made a response. All of these "Fresh" scents were in the clearance aisle and all traces of this product had been removed from their website line up. However, through some research I was able to find the Old Spice page for this product that simply stated, "This product is no longer available." So, there you have it. Either Old Spice is completely burying this product or they are temporarily taking it off the line up to work on the formula once again. The optimist in me hopes that it is the latter, but due to the lack of "Sweat Defense" products on the shelves, I am not overly hopeful. So, to be fair, this review and rating is influenced more by Old Spice as a company. But why did they change the formula in the first place? Why would they sabotage a product that had been a mainstay for countless customers? And why would they pull the product and bury it without any explanation? These are all questions that have lead me to steer clear of anything Old Spice. Not to mention, I've sampled dozens of their other scents with an open mind. But I have not yet found anything that meets my expectations. Hopefully one day Old Spice will be able to win back this customer. But in the meantime, I'm remaining skeptical of that possibility.
Not like I've used the old formula since 8th grade or anything. I found a store selling the old formula and bought like 8 sticks, and as soon as those run out I get to find a new non-Old Spice deoderant to wear. The new formula smells like a turtle cage.
