I used this to repair my fiberglas shower stall. It was easy to apply with detailed instructions. After applying I let it dry for 3 days before painting (although the instructions said only three hours was needed). I applied oil-based paint and waited 24 hours before getting water on it. I thought it was going to be just a temp fix. It's been three weeks of five showers per day for my family and it's still holding up. It's a permanent fix!
Had cracks in rv shower seems to stop any leaks
Used this patch kit to heal a cracked lower bumper cover on Ford Explorer. Watched a video on how to use fiberglass resin and the patch is very strong and very satisfactory. Just follow the directions.
Product was each to use and very easy instructions. I used it to repair 2 small cracks in my fiberglass shower. I waited a day before painting. So far the fix is very good. No issues at all. I am very happy with the results and it saved me a lot of money having to replace the entire shower.
I used this product to repair a hard shell piece of luggage. Rough handling by the airline caused a huge crack in the top of the suitcase. First I drilled a hole at each end of the crack so it wouldn't get longer. I followed all the steps, repairing from the inside and was able to travel without further damage.
This product -when used properly did exact what it said it would do - I repaired a cracked acyrilic/fiberglass bathtub that was leaking ..it bonded it beautiful and took 1 day to fully dry and finish resanding and paint. .you do have to measure amount t of hardener to use and the fumes are strong but it worked great and did the job.....
Used to repair cracks on interior bottom of kayak. Most of the materials needed were supplied. Additional materials needed were: gloves, paint brush, measuring spoons, thumb tack (to penetrate hardener bottle). You will needed to estimate the amount of resin/hardener needed for the job. Resin/hardener ratio is stated. I used about two thirds of cloth supplied and about two thirds of resin, which proved adequate. The weave of the cloth was a little large and had a tendency to unravel along the edges which made application a little messy. The work time for application is stated to be 8 to 12 minutes at 70 degrees. KEEP THIS MIND. The hotter it gets the faster it sets up. Years ago, my only other previous experience was a disaster, the temperature was 95 degrees. Don't do this work at elevated temperature!
The product worked like it was designed to. The amount of fiberglass in the package was more than I expected. The product arrived damaged with the cap opened on the resin bottle so it spilled out and ruined some of the fiberglass but I had enough to do what I needed to do.
Despite following the directions exactly as displayed on the box, three separate times, the resin never set up to harden. Extremely disappointed in a product from a well known company like Bondo/3M. If there was a product guarantee on the box I'd be asking for a refund. Don't waste your money.
I'll answer that question. Because they're hoping people don't have the energy to drive the opened, used item back to the store. So we have to spend our time and money driving back to the store to return it. Unacceptable.
