I got this foam to fill in a gap between in the door frame in my garage. The gap was about 3/4 inch. I shook the can for a good sixty seconds then placed the spray nozzle on the can. It was easy to put light pressure on the nozzle and direct the foam into the gap. It doesn't harden immediately and you can make adjustments if necessary. I did wear latex gloves and eye protection as recommended. The next day I was able to trim off the excess with my pocket knife. Not just good stuff, great stuff.

Great for beginners

This product was extremely easy to use and I was amazed at how quickly it filled up the space I needed it for. There was a huge hole under my sink that the previous owners left open so I used this product. I didn't notice an odor from the product as I used it, and the tube to administer the foam kept me from making a huge mess. Such a great application and no mess! Thank you for an amazing product!

Foam sealant works great

I used this insulating foam around my door and also around my bow window. It's very easy to use. I had no problems when using it. The expanding foam does a great job without any mess. It filled in all the gaps and seems to be holding up well. It is hard to tell in summer if the draft will still come through in winter, but I can not imagine that it would. It is soft and seems to fill the gap without any problem. It seems to give some which is good becuase it can expand. The dispenser is very easy to use. It is much easier to use than other insulating prducts I have tried. I gave it 5 stars. I would highly recommend this product for your next project.

Works as promised.....

Had to fix damage done by a fallen tree branch. When we took off the broken frame, we noticed a fair amount of gap between the window and the inner frame. The gap was about an inch or so around the whole window, and was large enough to allow a lot of heat and a/c to escape. I used the can according to directions, and it filled the gap perfectly, with only a small amount of the product to clean up. I just waited until the cure, and scraped it even. After reassembly, there was no air felt leaving. I can't say how long it will last, but it sure stopped the air flow for now, and unlike other foam sprays, this one stays flexible, which should allow for expansion and contraction, depending on the weather. I would highly recommend this product. It works used according to directions.

Helpful in Preparing for Cold Weather!

Actually, insulating spray-in foam doesn't just help during cold weather. It helps in ALL weather, because it keeps the good air in and the hot or cold air OUT. We just moved into a new place that had huge gaps around the doors, the washer/dryer pipes and vents, the windowsills, and even some outlets. We could feel cold air pouring into the house and needed this fixed. There is a regular spray and a long thin straw-like piece you can add on (it comes with it) to get into cracks. I am looking forward to being more comfortable and having a lower energy bill since we got the sealant. It's easy to use, also. I have arthritis in my hands and it was very simple to use and didn't cause pain like spray-pumps do.

Great Stuff!

Like it says, Great Stuff! I'm not an expert on using this stuff but it's not too hard to use but practice first to see how it flows and expands. Then do a dry run to see if the hose gets caught on anything and mark the spot so you'll know where it is. If you want to see a video on how to use it go on You Tube and check some out before you start. Great stuff and I love it!. Be sure to wear, safety glasses, and maybe gloves but I didn't have any at the time so I used it any way, and have the proper cleaning materials on hand for clean up.

Great Sealer

While I know the main purpose of GREAT STUFF Insulating Foam is for windows and doors, I actually used it around some pipes that we had under a kitchen sink in some rental property. It really helped with the seal where the pipes were coming out of the wall and you could feel a small draft under the sink. After applying the foam sealant, which was beyond easy, the draft was gone. While it's not the prettiest looking sealant, it does work!

Seal Up Cracks!

This is an awesome product! I would highly recommend this product for filling gaps or cracks, especially when weather proofing your home. You have the ability to fill small cracks or large spaces as well. I was able to fill a very large gap with paper, and sprayed this product on top and around the paper. This stuff is like Super Glue. It is very sticky, and nearly impossible to remove. I would suggest using gloves with this product. Also, it is very helpful if you tape off the area you are using it in, to prevent any spillage or accidents. Another good idea is to have some type of remover on hand in case you get the product in an unwanted area. I've used acetone, alcohol, Vaseline, paint thinner, and mineral oil. Even after using all of these products, I was only able to remove a small portion that was stuck on my wall. Another good tool to include is a box cutter or a exact-o knife. This product swells very large, and once it dries, you will want to cut off any excess. What I don't like about this product is that its a one time use product. If you stop using it more than an hour, or stop and start, the foam hardens inside and around the dispenser straw, and you wont be able to get any more to come out. So be sure you have all of the materials you need to complete the project before you start. I would highly recommend practicing on cardboard first, in order to get used to how the product sprays out of the can. If not, you may make a huge mess, and with this product being so sticky, you will have a hard time removing any spillage.

Decent insulator for small gaps

This was pretty easy to spray into the gaps, it does expand a lot so don't go crazy. When it dries it is hard at leqast on its outer shell, so if you try to cut the excess even with something very sharp it will pull some of the material out of the gap so sanding it to even it out is the best course of action. Since the door we used it on to try out is in the garage we really didn't care about how smooth it was in the end as it is the unfinished inside anyway but we did try it on another small gap that did show and that's where sanding came into play. I would use this again as it is a very handy product. It dries kind of yellowish so just be aware of that. Overall did a good job of insulating that door frame.

Not My Idea of Sealing with a Nice Look

I am not a fan of foam and found that this yellow look is not appealing at all. So glad I did not use it on my door space. If you want to wipe some of it off, forget about it. Then, it is toxic to skin and it took so long to be sure it is off. I can't recommend something so sloppy. I guess it is better for bigger gaps. Shake the can for a full minute. Mine was watery and sticky. I would rather use white caulking.
