this clock WILL wake you
The alarm will DEFINITELY wake the dead! I bought one last year for a friend, who loves it, and I decided to buy one for myself. Wakes me up faithfully every day, and I have slept through every other supposedly "LOUD" clock.
This clock does have a 100dB siren alarm. Excellent clock. Very large display.
I purchased this alarm as one of two different alarm clocks with loud alarms. This one is loud and annoying. Makes you get up to turn it off, no rolling over and hit snooze. I use this one as a back up alarm clock for those times when I must get up without hesitation. Need to get up, this is the one for you.
Ok so my family members tell me i am a heavy sleeper there was a loud bang car wreck out side my window on my street and i slept right throught itt and was told about the car wreck later also i have slept throught trains and ambulances and thunder so i guess you could consider me a heavy sleeper... well when i 1st got the alarm clock on 6-8-13 i thought it was pretty loud at 100db. but was still not sure.. so i tried it out for the 1st time and woke up early this morning on 6-9-13 i litterally jumped out of my sleep i thought i had fell off the bed it was loud enough to wake me and it has a very annoying siren sound which is good in my case because it forces you to get up and turn it off because it is so annoying so this alarm gets the job done... it is very simple simon 1 alarm clock really easy to set time and alarm no other bells and whistles other than a 3inch speaker on the back side that blows a loud 100db. alarm siren to wake you up violently which is good in my case to keep me from being late to school or work.i just could not see my self paying 30 buxx for the sonic one just because it has a bead shaker vibrator this (sharp brand) siren alarm clock is more than enough to wake me not to mention more anoyying of a sound than the sonic and for 15 buxx alot less on price so if you dont want to spend so much on an alaram clock and want one just as loud but more annoying sound than a sonic alarm than grab this clock you wont regret it not to mention the numbers to see the time are larger than the sonic but no so large or too brighy of light that it would bother you in a pitch dark room great alarm clock so far for only having for 24 hours we will see how it will last over time..
Very loud. Not too bright. BUT, I have tried several 2x AAA batteries and while the alarm time is backed up, the time is not. Have to reset time after power outage. IDK if the alarm will sound with only the batteries as backup.
It's loud and easy to see but the battery back up leaves a lot to be desired! If your power outage is for a short time you are probably OK but last weekend, mine was off for five hours and the alarm memory reset to 12:00, the time reset to 12:xx the minutes being correct.. I will continue to use it because it does wake more up.
I really love this little clock however the : lights between the time keeps blinking and I can't get it to stop so am taking it back. I may get another have to think about it. I really like it except for that.
I didn't think it was as loud as advertised, but it worked for awhile. Had it about 5 months and it just quit one day...tried resetting it etc; I'd think something from Sharp would last longer than 5 months...very disappointed.
This alarm clock is as loud as it claims - a very loud startling siren which is great for heavy sleepers. I tested it out and it sounded great, but then when I reset the alarm to test the regular alarm setting on it....it started flashing '88:88' and making random beeps which no button would shut off. I tried everything to get it to stop but it wouldnt stop until I unplugged it. Back into the package and returned to the store the next day. Sad - I was really excited about this clock :(
