I have found that this brand is the purest form just doing internet research. I have been taking L-Lysine for about 30 years now. Several different brands over the years. Ever so slowly raising the dose as needed. I started at 250 but quickly has to raise to 500. When I was at 1000 I started this brand and just recently started using 2000 a day. I have autoimmune issues and I feel this helps that too. If I get a sore, usually when sick, I raise my does to 6000 a day. Also I just found a L-Lysine ointment that helps a lot too and together a powerhouse!
Regularly taking L-Lysine is the best defense against cold sores. I've been taking it for years, and these pills, although 1000 mg, are smaller than other 1000 mg. pills I've taken and are coated and easy to swallow.
