Great results on metal garage door! Granted, I didn't follow all the recommendations, so I will probably be redoing these in a year. I applied with 5 in brush agter having done prep (washed and sanded) but without priming, and mixed it with various other stains to achieve the desired color, and applied in the sun when the doors were warm, so I ended up using 4x the amount expected and doing 3 coats, then couldn't get it sealed before the rains came this season. Wish me luck!
Bought Gel Stain about 6 weeks ago to paint a Formica coffee table. It went on easy and was given 2 thin coats. After it was thoroughly dry 2 thin coats of satern polyurethane was applied. Finished job came out awesome. Only time will tell how well the gel stain adhered to the Formica as far as chipping goes.
My hobby is intarsia, making wood images of animals, birds, etc. I love your products for finishing my projects.
I googled to see if there was a wood stain that will cover over painted wood. MinWax came up. Bought it and SO HAPPY I did!! It is flippin beautiful!! I didnt sand my base board either. Base boards were painted white. Wanted wood look. Very much recommend this product!!!!

I bought this month or so ago. Best paint for vinyl or fiberglass outside doors and window shutter. Easy and beautiful. Even leaves the wood grain on door. . Throw a mini wax clear coat on it. Looks new.
Extremely upset and disheartened as we chose the color coffee for our front door since the can and sample showed a nice brown, but we now have BLACK front doors!!! I would not recommend this product because what is displayed is not what you get! The quote from our builder to redo the doors is out of our price range. Be mindful and always read reviews!
I cannot believe you changed the colors! I purchased coffee which used to be a very nice brown. Had 11 of my 15 doors redone in it. And can no longer get the same color!!! Coffee is now black! I opened the old style can next to the new one & there is an obvious BiG difference in color. I'm so upset and before I realized the color difference I tried to touch up a few doors and now I have black spots all over my brown doors . Do not start a project with their gel stain unless you have enough all at once to finish and also keep some in case you ever need a touch up. It's absolutely ridiculous. So now I have 11 brown doors and 4 black ones!!
