Detailed product description

For almost 50 years, Howard's Restor-A-Finish has been a standard in the antique industry. Because Restor-A-Finish preserves and restores beauty to the original wood finish, it helps preserve the antiques’ authenticity and value, whereas stripping the finish may literally strip the piece of its value. Restor-A-Finish penetrates faded lacquer, shellac, and finishes to bring back the original color and luster. It restores the depth of grain in wood finishes, going much deeper than temporary “scratch cover” products. Restor-A-Finish penetrates and permanently restores most wood finishes without removing any of the existing finish - this is why it is very popular for antiques. Restor-A-Finish maintains the original "patina" of an antique finish, maintaining its character and value as an antique. To protect the newly restored finish Feed-N-Wax is recommended as a follow-up to Restor-A-Finish. “Restore It – Don’t Strip It!” Permanently revive and restore the original color and luster in one step, without removing any of the existing finish. Most wood finishes that seem to need a complete refinishing job can be completely restored in a few minutes with this simple wipe-on, wipe-off process. White heat rings and watermarks, sun fade, oxidation, smoke damage, and most other blemishes can be quickly blended away. Before you go to the extreme of stripping it, try restoring it!

Restor-A-Finish is a unique finish-penetrating formula that restores wood finishes while blending out minor scratches, blemishes and abrasions Available in nine colors to match almost any wood finish tone Neutral, Maple-Pine, Golden Oak, Cherry, Walnut, Mahogany, Dark Walnut, Dark Oak, and Ebony Brown With a simple wipe-on, wipe-off process, most finished wood surfaces that seem to need a complete refinishing job can be restored in a few minutes Removes white heat rings and water marks, sun fade, oxidation, smoke damage and most other blemishes Restor-A-Finish restores the finish without removing any of the existing finish Before you go to the extreme of stripping it, restore it

This the best, easiest and simplest way to refinish wood. I did some cabinets in the kitchen and both bathrooms with excellent results. Just follow directions on the can.

Restorafinish Works

Used on maple vanity that over the years has become marred with scratches, spots from hairspray, etc. Used 3M xtra-fine sanding sponge on particularly bad hair spray spots and then applied Restorafinish. Worked great - few areas if you look closely you can still see some damage, but overall did a great job.

This is a great product! I bought a 1960s China cabinet and used this to bring back its finish. It looks amazing. Don't expect miracles (see the pictures...the top of the cabinet is severely damaged, the product made it look ok. No one will see the top anyway!) I took before and after photos of significant change. The piece still has marks that were too deep to fix, but overall I'm happy with the results.

This stuff is amazing. I used it to even out the finish on a 1915 Victrola on the high use areas instead of re-finishing. Now it will go another 100 years in beauty preserving the finish that is left.
