I've used nothing but Braun shavers since the early 80's I purchased this model because it doesn't have a battery, the cordless feature is something I've never had a need for. The very first Braun I ever had came to me in a strange way. I was walking through a mall and this very attractive young woman stopped me and wanted to know if I'd like to participate in a test program. She gave me my first Braun shaver and said this company was just starting to offer it's products in the US. I was supposed to return the shaver after two weeks but continued using it for most of the rest of the decade! When I got this one home I was amazed to see it is the exact same cutting block that introductory shaver had in the 80's ! Once you've found the best tool for the job Why look any further?
I've had Braun shavers for years and get the best shave from them. So I keep coming back to the brand. I don't ever shave away from an AC outlet so don't need the battery nor do I need any other feature, so this simple design suits me very well. The price can't be beat for a Braun. Highly recommended.
I have tried many electric shavers in the past. All left me with irritated skin. I like a blade shave, but in a hurry I thought this would be quick. With the help of a pre-shave lotion, this one performs good. I`m happy with it.
well when i first took the razor out of the box.i was a little iffy i already have a battery razor and it has a bigger razor head. but after i used the BRAUN 130S SHAVER i was really happy with the control of the razor and it didn't pull the hair on the bottom of my face like my other razor will do at times. the trimmer that is built into the razor is so nice because i can't lose this one because it is made into the bad of the razor. it is small but has a wide cut it makes it easy to trim around my goat-t and side burns. the light weight of the BRAUN 130S SHAVER is so nice you don't get tired when you shave with it. and the cord is long so you have a enough reach to shave but the cord is only about 3 feet long all the way pulled out. this BRAUN 130S SHAVER would have got 5 stars if it had a rechargeable battery in it. but over all this is a great razor to buy.and my wife love the feel of the clean face and is using it to shave her legs. so guys just remember if you get it she can use it to
This was the only corded, batteryless model I could find right now, and I'm disappointed that it's not as good as the corded Remington I bought last time, several years ago. It seems like it's straining to keep up with just a day's growth. I'd gladly pay more for a better quality corded shaver, but the market doesn't offer one right now that I can see. I don't like batteries in my shaver because 1) they're the first thing to wear out, and 2) I always shave next to an outlet -- why would I want to pay for a battery?
I don't know if it's because it's now manufactured outside of Germany but the Braun doesn't have the same ease and closeness of my old Braun shaver. I will probably end up sticking with the old Norelco.
was so looking forward to using this product. Upon plugging it in and switching it on I find there is almost no power. It would not cut the hair and was worse than my cordless shaver.
The size and design of the shaver is great and the extendable trimmer for use with longer hair is very useful... but that is where the positive features of this unit end. I received this shaver free from Braun to test it out and review, and I was excited as my other shaver is getting old. I just did not get a close shave on my neck at all (I enjoy having a beard, and my wife loves it as well, but not a "neck-beard"). I tried using the razor four times (with varying stages of beard-growth) and each time had to go back to using my old razor to finish up and clean up the missed hairs.
I have been using electric razors for 60 years and liked my Braun razors - but not this one! It takes many passes to cut all the facial hair. Also, I had to tape the power cord to the razor so it didnt disconnect while shaving. Braun - why are you selling this useless product??
After two or three minutes on my beard, the shaver made bad noises and finally quit, never to start. Glad I got it from Walmart, so I could return it easily.
