I used this on a science project for my Sr Research Project. This did an excellent job especially for the price. I performed all the test 18 times and I still have some left over.
Excellent product! Test NH3, NO3, pH for fresh water and salt water, GH, and KH. Awesome, good price.
I like the product. It would be nice if they had one product for freshwater and one for saltwater. I now have a PH test kit for saltwater I will never use. It would have been helpful to have two PH bottles for freshwater use.
All of the neighborhood pet shops were pushing their aquarium test strips. I bought one and the water kept testing high for Nitrates. When I visited the actual aquarium store, they tried to sell me their aquarium test kit for approx $40. When I found this one listed on Walmart.com at a price under $20, I jumped on it. This kit tests every aspect of my freshwater 150 gal aquarium. Even though the tests are significantly more time consuming than using the strips, they are very accurate. You must be willing to read the instructions for each of the tests to get the proper results. It is well worth the learning experience and you won't find a better price anywhere. BTW... The nitrates were in the normal range. My fish are happy and healthy and so am I. Don't trust the strips and go for this bargain!
I found that this Aquarium test kit was at a good price and it is easy to use.
Have used this test kit, and it is worth every penny. Has saved my fish a couple of times when the pH was normal, but unknown to me (until I tested), the ammonia level was becoming toxic! Would have lost my fish if not for this kit, and weekly testing! DEFINITELY recommend this test kit to all aquarium owners!!
After receiving the Tetra Laborett Master Aquarium Water Test Kit I immediately tested my aquarium water. It was fast and easy, anybody can use this kit and get an accurate reading on several dimensions of their aquarium water. The kit comes with directions for each aspect of your water you may be testing, use those as each test will require different amounts of drops and different wait times. Also make sure that you are comparing your water against the right test card. The kit comes packaged so that you can keep all of your testing materials seperated for future use. It comes with 2 syringes (for transferring water to test vials), 2 test vials, testing liquids, and testing cards. Overall I think this is one of the best aquarium water testing kits, especially when you consider the cheap price and all the tests you can perform with it. I would recommend buying this product to anyone who owns an aquarium.
This product was wonderful and definitely eased my mind, I have two green spotted puffers, and they are a very sensitive fish due to the fact they do not have scales, so before I got this product, I was constantly wondering what the ammonia and nitrite levels were in my 29 gallon tank. The procedure was SO easy and very easy to read...Definitely better than testing with strips, I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to keep a better eye on their fishies!! Oh, by the way, this product does NOT test nitrates, which are generally harmless to fish in small amounts, I did have to purchase strips for that.
I bought this product because of the price compared to other stores. Granted, this does not have everything that the API Master kit you may purchase at a pet store has. The only main test it is missing is the nitrate test. But, for the price it's definetally worth it! I have used it probably 25 times and still have about half the bottles left. Like I mentioned, it does not come with the nitrate test so you would need to purchase that seperate, but overall this is worth the value!
It is a good value. Only avail online. The amount of chems you get in the bottles is less than kits from other companies, such as API, so each chemical may not last as long (have as many tests) as some others that you can buy. It only comes with two test tubes, so you have to rinse and re-use to run through all the different tests. The syringe is nice. Nice that they included GH and KH, but would be nice if they had a Nitrates test also. The pH test is wide range, so not as easy to distinguish in the important 6 - 8 pH range as some others. I compared the results with others methods and these seem accurate enough. It is a good kit.
