This set is a small set that is used in combination with the Titanfall City of Angels. It really needs the larger set to enjoy the full effect of the complete system. This part consists of 86 pieces, it also contains a limited edition figure that any K'nex fan will difantly want. It has weapons and a platform that connects to the larger set. The pieces are very small and should be kept out of reach of children under the age of three. This set can be set up in several areas in the larger set. It allows more children to play together with the extra figrures. The pieces are moveable and allow real life action like play. It also lets children set up multiple different types of platforms. The pieces are all interchangeable. My children are big K'nex fans so this is a big hit, we already have the large set. It would not be much fun alone, but with multiple sets together it provides hours and hours of fun. I highly recommend this set, as well as all K'nex sets. It provides great fun for children's imagination, the sets mix together. They are durable, and worth the cost.
Brought both the IMC Pilot Strike and Militia Pilot Attack to our family Christmas. I was skeptical because there were so many-many pieces! However, our 12 year old grandson LOVES these and assembled BOTH in less than 45 minutes and proceeded to creatively combine them as well! Very entertaining and educational at the same time! They appeared to be of good quality, durable and appropriate for the age group sited on the package [ages 8 and up].
My grandsons love this set. They were so excited to add this to their K'NEX collection. They have a lot of K'NEX but especially like the sets with figures. It does enhance their play experience. As always quality is important and K'NEX delivers. They are durable and if taken care of will last for years. Their K'NEX get a lot of use and hold up very well. I can't recommend K'NEX highly enough. They keep my grandsons busy for hours at a time. They love building and are always creating new structures trying to out do each other. They especially like this set because of the helicopter. Being very sports minded active 8 and 10 year olds, it is often hard to get them to put away the sports equipment and the video games and do something creative and imaginative. But once the K'NEX are out they are busy for a long time and the whole family gets involved. The K'NEX pieces are colorful and mixed with other sets still look as though they are one set. Making their creations more realistic.. Just an awesome toy.
Somehow K'nex keeps coming up with these great put together toys for the kids,who ever sits and comes up these different and unique ideas on how to use all the different pieces to put together a building,a fort etc etc..the game playing is endless..not only is it fun but it also takes the kids away from the tablets and computers and actually gives them the ability to use their hands, mind and imagination.The great thing about K'nex is all of these parts can be used just like Legos to make so many different and fun toys....absolutely love K'NEX !!!
Again, like many we have more than one Christmas. When this came I had no real clue as to what it was, once my 9 and 7 year olds saw it they began to glow like a Christmas Tree! How did you find this? This was the top of of "Want"List!! It was supposed to be decorate the tree and cookie time, the two boys headed to a private corner of the living room, put the IMC Pilot Set together in no time! They played for hours. Every once in awhile I'd hear, I am SO HAPPY!! These are some of our favorite toys. Parents you can be sure your kids will tear the box open and be playing in no time. This is an awesome set that fuels the mind...To see them play, with out having to use a video controller was refreshing. Caution as many small parts, not for small children. They want MORE sets...Thank You.
I asked my 12 year old nephew to test this product as he is a fan of the K'NEX toys. He liked the fact that this was a Limited Edition and he could collect others to complete the set. Because this item is recommended for children 8 and up I thought he would make a very good tester. When I looked at the 84 pieces I thought to myself this will be a challenge at least for me as an adult, but for a 12 year old it was a piece of cake to put together. The instructions were easy to follow and before I knew it he was up and running. Because it does have many small pieces I do not recommend allowing small children to play with it. Although my nephew had fun putting this together I think at 12 he would be more challenged with a much larger set. With that said an 8-10 year old would probably enjoy it more.
This toy is kinda small. It would be good with more k'nex sets. The two little guys that come with it are pretty fun. My son loves them. The structure is fine. Sturdy-ish once built, so it can actually be played with. It is a little difficult to build. The instructions are nice and easy to use. But the pieces are tiny, making it a high attention project. If your kid isn't a good focuser, he/she will need help assembling it. The instructions are pictures with step by step, so a kid could build it alone. Mine kid was not happy with the finished size. But it is not a full size pack. It's an add on. So I think for what it is supposed to be it is great. It is our first piece of this set. If you are in the same boat I would recommend starting with another bigger set. But if you already have some pieces of this collection, it is a good add on.
This was a quick build set with detailed instructions and images. The pictures are numbered which makes it easy to read and assemble. This is especially good for smaller children that are just beginning to read. The pictures help with each step. Each piece connects with ease making it simple for smaller hands. This set includes two mini soldiers, a cannon, an assault rifle, a pistol, a retaining wall and a maneuvering stick. The stick makes it easy to move the pieces in and out of the wall for more realistic play and isn't something that is seen in most building sets. The pieces are a bit flimsy compared to other building sets, but overall proved fun, especially for children who have a creative imagination.
This building set was put together by a creative 9 year old boy and his grandpa (my brother). Grandpa is an experienced builder who also enjoyed model building as a boy. He built dozens of models growing up, so he's no novice. They found the directions that came with the kit were very poorly written and somewhat "backwards". They had to disassemble the kit half way through and begin again because the directions were so confusing. Once they more or less ignored the directions and went with grandpa's expertise, it went together fairly easily and it is cute, but directions made it difficult. So you might want to just set the instructions aside and follow the instincts of an experienced model builder when putting this thing together. This particular kit is not really meant to be a stand-alone toy, but an add-on package to the K'NEX Titanfall Toys IMC Pilot Strike building set. Since the boys didn't have the main building set (yet), only this add-on, there wasn't a whole lot they could do with it once it was built. The 9 year old got bored playing with it after about 20 minutes; the 5 year old enjoyed playing with it a bit longer.
We had trouble putting it together. The pieces are hard to push together and it really hurts your thumb. The instructions aren't that clear on where and what piece you put where. I had to help my son put this together it isn't easy to do. I thought it would be easy, because there wasn't that many piece it would be a piece of cake. Boy was I wrong. Once we got it together he had trouble getting the missile to launch and the trap door doesn't work right. The good guys can't hold guns, but the bad guys can. He likes the detail on the figures. They really show what they are and have on their belts. He would put the men on it and have battles. If they would just make the instructions more clear and the pieces easier to put together he would have loved it. I love to watch him play with his toys the scene he does is amazing, but this one he just doesn't like play with it and I think it's because he couldn't do it by himself which is sad. He has so much fun with that other toy you put together.
