This product shipped really fast! The color was not specified online and ours ended up being Desert Sand which is perfect for us because I really couldn't decide on the color. We installed it over our deck and it shades the dining table inside too as the back of the house gets full sun at dinnertime. I am already thinking of ordering another smaller one for the patio area.
I was unsure about this, but as soon as I got it installed I knew I wanted to expand my shaded area with another. I'm ordering it now.
It is large, and the material is breathable. Nice color, cross between tan and gold. Has all the hardware to set up. But you have to buy the steel poles from Lowe's or Home Depot. We bought the 10' fence poles. We prefer to install in the ground and not attach to our house or wall. Best to install poles in ground with concrete.
This is a great product that adds drama to my small So. Cal patio. We mounted the sails high on the house. This adds vertical interest and makes the yard seem larger than it is. The internal tempature in my house is at least 10 degrees cooler! One hint: be sure you have enough space to to tension your sails.
this shade is awesome!!! I mean really, we installed 6 of these things around the tiki bar at our hotel and they work unbelievably well!! It took a little ingenuity because our area didn't allow for the straight-forward use of the included hardware, but still installation was simple. And, honest to goodness, there is a 20 degree difference between the open sunshine and the shade under one of these sails. Really, we used a thermometer and actually checked it. if you want to create an oasis of shade, buy this product!!!
I didn't think it was that easy to put up but I really didn't figure it all out ahead of time. I did end up redoing a couple of times.......improvements I will call them............in the end I bought another turnbuckle so all ends have one and used cable to hang it. I was going to use the sun sail as a temporary shade fix until I found something different but I think I will keep the sun sails because it makes the patio area feel more open.
Hi, This shade has provided just enough shade, for a portion of our backyard. It provides shade, but allows are backyard to still feel open and allows a bit light through. Its been an energy saver this year!
The coolaroo 16.5' sail shade has a 5 years warranty whereas the (2) Sun Shade sail shades that I purchased last year only had a one year warranty. Guess what? You guessed it! The Sun Shade sail shades only lasted one year. At a little under $80.00 each for a total of $160.00/ year it is not worth buying the sail shades from Sun Shade Co. Let's hope that the Coolaroo shades last longer. Unfortunately, when I went online at Walmart a week after getting the Coolaroo 16.5' sail shade (with the 5 year warranty) Walmart only had a 11.5' sail shade available.
This product is well made. The hardware and seams are sturdy, and it appears that the shade sail will hold up for many years. For the price its great, the only drawback is the shape which may have more to do with my yard than the product. I have two to do the job of 1 rectangular version, although esthetically it is nice to see.
I'm a moderate do-it-yourselfer, but the instructions on this bad boy were too overwhelming for me! I bought two of them and took them back. The quality looks great, I just didn't want to have to pay someone to install them, etc.
