Exactly what I expected. A portable device with close to console graphics. Easy to pick up and enjoy games that were made to be played on the home systems. The screen has great resolution for streaming movies and tv shows. Great buy.
The Playstation Vita is a wonderfully new portable gaming experience like no other. It is like have a portable version of the Playstation 3. The system has a crisp 5" 960x544 HD Display, 2 mini joysticks unlike PSP, touchscreen functionality, and a back touch pad. This is also the first Cartridge based gaming system Sony has made, the games are similar to those of the Nintendo DS/3DS or SD Memory cards, however; they are smaller. The system allows you to do some of the same online interactions online, comes with trophies, and packed with more fun activities you can do. This is a wonderful system, you should try it.
Bought the ps vita wifi(along w/2 games) for my 9 yr old daughter on 9 mar 12'....she has played it every minute she has had free time. I got a chance to look it over and play it myself the other night. The screen on this thing is amazing...graphics from the games is the best i have ever seen on a gaming system..better than xbox 360 and the playstation 3..imo. It is much much better than than the psp she had....good job sony. REMEMBER..you must buy a memory card to play games. The 3g model comes with the an 8gb card in its $299 price. I bought a light blue hard case and a 4gb card for $1 less than the starter case pack. The starter case pack comes with a soft case which i didnt think would take a drop impact...her hard case definitly can and the case is lined with a soft material and has 16 pockets for the games you can buy in a store. Games can also be purchased thru the ps store on the ps vita screen. Definitly a worthwhile purchase and much better than the psp...much better.
First let me just start off by saying this is a great product. So far i have thoroughly enjoyed the touch screen interface as well as the option to use the controls. The speaker sound is great but sounds even better with headphones.

This is a very nice piece of hardware. The OLED screen looks amazing. The dual analog sticks feel very natural and really make a huge difference when playing shooters like Uncharted Golden Abyss. There are a number of quality launch titles (more titles that I want than I can actually afford anyway). I would recommend this to anyone that wants to game on the go!
Id like to say I own every game console out there and I am a Big Time Gamer and have been one now for over 40 years... I have won alot of awards as a young person as well as in my teens and even into my adulthood. So Im not your occasional gamer, Im a eveyday gamer and I not only own every game console I have my own gaming servers online and have a online gaming Team,Clan and have been doing that since 1999. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and almost died but thru theropy,radation,cemo and surgeries I was able to start gaming again in July of 2011. I then started my Old Clan Soldiers Of Xtreme back up and have two Mohaa gaming servers and a Teamspeak 3 server as well. I am telling you all this so that you know my Review comes from years of experience in gaming so having said this the best was to describe this game is like having a PS 3 in the palm of your hands but not just that it has touch screen technology and has motion sensors built in so you can control the game by just moving the PS Vita around in the palm of your hands. The PS Vita was definitely well designed as great and well thought out. The games for the Vita are designed with awesome graphics which makes the Vita a great buy and sure worth the price.!!!!
The launch titles might not be a lot (though is numbered at around 30) but there are plenty of selections for all types of gamers. Despite its size, the Vita is lightweight and easy to handle. The front and rear touch screens add a great feature to many of the games. If you have the funds to get this and one of the more larger memory sticks, it's a good investment.
I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son. He had the old psp and was ready for an upgrade. He loves it. The graphics are great. I would recommend buying a case to go with it because the game cartridges are very small and there is a place in the case for the cartridges. This Walmart one was a little cheaper than the one on Amazon BUT this one didn't come with a memory card so we had to purchase one separately The amazon one came with the memory card so I assumed the walmart did but it didn't. Also make sure to check the console to make sure the serial numbers match. We had to take the first one back because when he opened it on Christmas it didn't work so we took it back to exchange it the day after Christmas. Come to find out it was used -- someone had switched it out and the #s didn't match! So make sure you have a new one and that the console and the box serial numbers match.
It was listed as a new item figure it was a Japan one or nos . But when it arrived it was definitely well used do not buy from this seller !!
