Even all these years after its release, Oblivion is still one of the best options for Xbox 360 owners who need a great RPG. Even without any of the expansion packs, this game has thousands of hours of gameplay. It allows you to either follow the main story the sets you on at first, or blow it off and take as much time as you want to do side quests, join guilds, go treasure hunting in dungeons, developing the character to your playstyle all the while. Believe it or not, this game even gets better with time. Once you get the hang of it, you'll most likely create other character just to test the different ways to play the game. The game was a great deal when it was first released at sixty dollars with no expansions, so you can imagine how good a deal it is for thirty with the two expansions!
I play everyday and when I'm on time flies by. So many options on who you are and what kind of person you are. So many quest you can find usually without look for them. Usually the quest seem difficult but I'm finding I'm stronger then I thought. Some things make me laugh and some are a little creepy like going in dark caves to kill zombies and skeletons and wizards. My kids (safe for kids that can handle killing things) do silly stuff like walking the people into the water and then they are stuck. I'm much more serious. In the beginning you have to speak to a Jefferies (I believe thats his name) Then he will send to find someone. One tip save that. Because you have to be strong. Not sure but that could be the end of the game. As you get different quest you can look in your journal and activate the one you want to do. then the courser will mark that area on your map. makes it easy to find the area. ALSO you can travel from one location to another like warping, click travel (A button) on map and you can go from one side of the land to the other instantly (also you can get a free horse from one of the monks by Jefferies. I love my horse :)
I believe people worldwide voted a lot for The Elder Scrolls IV. It was fun and had two exclusives for this ultimate edition.
Not much else to say I was amazed,The game I purchased is 16 years old and it arrived without so much as a scratch on it.Near mint condition. Would do business again very much so.
I've spent hours and hours playing this game and have finished it several times. This is an open game, meaning you can go anywhere and do (practically) anything at any time. If you like this kind of freedom while playing a game, this is the one for you!
This game rocks. Hands down the best first-person RPG I've ever played. From the beginning, you're given a short linear path, then blam - sandbox world. There's a main quest that retains your interest throughout, but there are WAY more sidequests that are tons of fun. What I loved most about this game is that you can choose your character path from the beginning. You want to be a strength- and speed-based fighter? A sly thief? An archmage? Any combination of the three? It can be done. Then, as the game progresses, you gain levels by successfully using the main attributes of your character, rather than just doing random things and getting experience. The voice acting, character models, world model, and storyline are all amazing. There is a slight learning curve when using magic and other ranged attacks. Using a fireball as an example, when you cast it, there is a slight delay between button push and actual cast. Then, the fireball moves (as it should) in a direct path from where you cast it from to where you were looking when it was cast. Therefore, if you cast it, then sidestep to dodge an incoming arrow, the fireball may go past your intended target. Another example is that arrows drop (as they should) with gravity, and therefore you must be able to judge distances in order to compensate for the drop. This requires more of a learning curve than magic, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to shoot above objects and still headshot a demon (or villager!) This GOTY Bundle is an AWESOME deal - when I first bought the game, I paid $20 for the greatest hits, then had to shell out more for the expansions. This includes ALL of them, and they're completely worth it!
this game is worth your money and your time. looking for an easy way to lose yourself on hours on end? this is a must buy for you. be careful though because this game can take over your life. now i know you are saying "this game has been out for years". true but with the added quests, this game is practicly new.
so. i bought this game of the year edition and was highly pleased that it included both of the expansions for the game. i felt it was well worth the money and with the different races and many different side quests, its is hours of fun.
oblivion was a beautiful and awe inspiring game. The graphics were simply breathtaking and the gameplay seamless. The only drawback I could see to the game was the limited armor and clothing. In Morrowind; bethesda's earlier Elder scrolls game you had a larger variety of clothing and armor options than in Oblivion. Noted Oblivion's coolest thing would have to be the ability to create a character to look like whatever you wish it to look like. Oblivion has met and exceeded my expectations.
This game literally takes hundreds of hours to discover everything in this game. It a great game and has MANY things to discover including weapons, armor, and magic. This is a game that you can play for an entire day and still not even be 15% completed. You're character can be of many species, some of the quests have more than one way of doing them making the game just that bit more longer to truly discover everything in it. Great game for people that really like long RPGs. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because although the game is really big it seems the could of done more or taken less of the "useless" land in the game.
