I did a lot of research and comparing before purchasing this gym and I was NOT let down! I have been lifting for 20 years and finally decided set myself up at home. Here is my experience.. I purchased site to store and had 4 wal mart associates help me load up (bring a truck!) The main box is over 6 feet long and weighs over 300 lbs so I had to bring the pieces into the house one at a time (no big deal). Set up took me a good 6 to 8 hrs. Even being experienced I managed to miss 1 pulley routing on my first attempt, but easily fixed. Read the directions carefully and be sure to tighten bolts in each step unless told not to. I forget to tighten the two bolts under the weight stack now I'll never get them without dismantling to whole machine. The 150 lbs in the weight stacks is deceiving. It equates to probably 300 lbs of resisitance in which I was pleasantly surprised. I'm 5'8", 180 and have been lifting most of my life. I'll never even get close to lifting this whole stack with the possible exception of the leg press. I've had a bowflex and was comparing a new one to this. I can tell you, this gym WILL do everything you want for a third of the price of the Bowflex I was looking at. I did purchase some accessories to complete this setup (tricep rope, curl bar, and steel handle stirrups to make this really complete!) This machine is also much more heavy duty (sturdy) than I thought it would be and assembly is possible for the average person. The only alteration I had to make was removing the pulley guards on the butterfly section, they kept hitting and causing a loud snapping sound. Other than that, all good in hood.. I've always trusted Weider products, and Wal Mart has a great product/value with this gym. Buy it, Use it for yourself.. It must be good because I'm not the type to go back and write a review when I buy something.... One more thing.. It's big, consider the measurements and add a little for comfort and operation room..

I got this gym to lose weight with weights and have everything in one easy to use package. I was not let down. This is a perfect compliment to my cardio. Some things to know: Use a socket and wrench set. You will need a good sized room for this. It doesn't go right up against the corner, it needs to be about three feet out from the corner so that you can use the lat bar and the butterfly. It fits in a room 12x14 fine with an elliptical and a TV. You'll need 7 feet 2 inches of head room, so be careful in basements around vents. Assembly goes pretty quick with it. I did it all by myself in five hours on a Saturday. If you are handy with tools, you'll be fine by yourself. If not, get a friend and read each step a few times to make sure you are assembling it right. It goes together nice and tight and is REALLY sturdy and strong. Pay close attention to the cables and the pulley assembly. Take your time. Listen to the directions, do not tighten stuff when it tells you not to. I did not install the big metal face plate because I have no kids, so them getting pinched is not an issue. For those that have kids it has a nice locking feature with a key that lets you immobolize the entire system. The unit provides plenty of resistance for weight loss and toning with over 65 exercises. For power lifting, this machine is not made for over 300 pounds resistance. It's simply not that type of machine. It also operates very smoothly if assembled right. It's pretty comfortable. I'm 6 foot 288lbs and it fits me just fine. The wide seats and backs are a nice feature. Leg press is a bit tight but once you get pumping it's fine. The military press really gets you burning good. The ease of use and switching exercises take seconds and makes working out with weights very easy and safe. No worries of dropping a bar on your head or getting caught and pinched. The cables and pulleys are out of the way. Good design. There are a couple of cons: 1. It should come in a few boxes. The huge crate is hard to move and get inside. Will not fit in most doors. Plan to take the parts out of the crate outside and move them inside. 2. There should be a way to tell what weight you are moving. A page or something telling what weight level means what pound resistance at each exercise would be fine. There is no way to tell if you are moving 150 or 175 of 300 pounds because the pulleys alter resistance. All it tells you is if you are on weight 1 thru 12. 3. The parts came pretty scuffed due to the box layout and so many heavy parts packed so close. Seperate shipping boxes, 2 or 3 would cure that easily.
