I really like McCormick Beef Stroganoff Sauce Mix. It is really a great creamy taste and can be made with many variations. I really like that it does Not have MSG and No artificial flavors but has natural spices. I really love to add mushrooms to this sauce mix. It does contain mushrooms in the packet but nothing like fresh mushrooms add to it for more flavor. You really can add any meat to this and still get that wonderful stroganoff flavor. So feel free to use any meat such as beef roast, ground beef, ground turkey, and shredded chicken. Some fresh green onions, and/or basil and/or tarragon are also a great addition to the flavor the stroganoff. So yummy!!! It is also a pretty fast meal to prepare with the McCormick Beef Stroganoff Sauce Mix. The best noodles are the egg noodles but pretty much any pasta would work just giving it slight variations of flavors. So there are many variations to make this Stroganoff meal every week and still not be exactly the same. Great tasting Beef Stroganoff Sauce Mix.
As far back as I can remember Beef Stroganoff has been one of our family's favorite dinners. We had never tried one of these mixes before. My wife always followed a family recipe and made it from scratch. We were surprised to find that the McCormick Beef Stroganoff Sauce Mix provides the basis for an excellent Beef Stroganoff meal. The basic recipe on the package label is very simple. We followed the recipe and found it to be quite tasty & enjoyable. We served the Beef Stroganoff over a bed of 3/8 inch flat noodles in a large flat serving bowl. I chose to sprinkle the Beef Stroganoff lightly with Parsley Flakes. (See attached photo of the finished product.) The flavor of the sauce adds a great compliment to the prepared meal. The overall textures and flavors of the sauce, beef and noodles makes for an elegant meal with a minimum amount of work and time in the kitchen. The flavors are slightly different from those of the family recipe, but we felt that it was quite enjoyable and well within the range of being a good and pleasant and enjoyable meal. I would definitely recommend this product. I received this Beef Stroganoff Mix free of charge for use and review.
This is a pack of McCormick Beef Stroganoff Sauce mix. I will see how easy this is to make with this sauce. After cooking the ground beef, I added the sauce. You could also use ground chuck, or ground turkey. The powdered sauce was easy to dissolve,no lumps. You could also add mushrooms, sour cream and onions. By changing the classic recipe you can make this different ways. I added mushrooms and onions and the sour cream. You can also add different spices such as parsley flakes or paprika. The cooked beef stroganoff came out great. This sauce would be handy to have on hand. I would recommend this sauce to anyone who don't like to start from scratch when cooking.
The McCormick Beef Stroganoff Sauce Mix requires one cup of sour cream to make the sauce, and the seasoning packet then creates a distinct and uniquely stroganoff taste. I substituted hamburger to replace the sliced beef to prepare my beef stroganoff. Also, I substituted cottage cheese for the sour cream. The hamburger-cottage cheese stroganoff dinner is just as appetizing because this sauce mix contains a true zest of stroganoff for the meal. Wheat flour, mushroom, buttermilk, onion, garlic, nonfat dry milk, and white pepper flavor this sauce. On the package, basil is also an included spice. All ingredients came together bringing the strong tang of stroganoff flavor. Moreover, this is a very convenient and fast way to cook a beef stroganoff dinner that is delicious.
McCormick's Stroganoff Sauce Mix make a face, easy, delicious meal that will become your family's favorite. It take less than 30 minutes from preparation to plate, so if you are busy on the go family that love a gourmet meal than grab this sauce. It makes a rich creamy sauce with bits of mushroom in it that if full of flavor that clings to the strip of meat and noodle. I love that there is a lot need to buy to make this dinner, just a bag of egg noodles, eight-ounce cup of sour cream and sirloin steak. But if you are on a tight budget using flap meat (thin steak meat) is just as good. You can also substitute the egg noodle with white or brown rice for another delicious meal. I would recommend McCormick Stroganoff Sauce Mix to family and friends with a hearty two thumbs up.
We have been using this Stroganoff Pack for years. McCormick is one of the only companies that actually makes a pack for Stroganoff. It has a good flavor profile and makes it very simple to make a tasty, fast dinner. We combine it with either ground beef or sirloin strips, but you can use any type of meat you want. We then use either egg noodles (mostly), No Yolk noodles or lasagna casserole noodles (not the long thick ones, the little tiny ones that are shaped like the regular lasagna one but about the size of a quarter) and mix that with sour cream. Again, you can use whatever pasta you want. I've even seen some people mix this with ramen noodles. To avoid the sour cream curdling or getting clumpy, let the noodles and meat sauce mix cool a little before adding sour cream. The mix starts off a little clumpy looking, with white clumps/flecks. These little white things are dehydrated onions. This is normal, okay, and those will hydrate into little chopped onion bits as you cook the sauce.
I sliced one pound rib eye steak, and stir-fried it in the Oriental way. I removed the beef and prepared the sauce according the instructions on the package. I added one cup of cold water, stirred in the sauce mix, and heated to a boil. But soon I realized the sauce was too thick, and so I added an extra cup of cold water. I also added a small can of mushroom. I then stirred in one cup of sour cream. After the mixture was heated up, I added back the beef. And it was done. Meanwhile, I cooked a 10-oz package of egg noodle in water. After the noodle was tender, I removed the noodle and placed it in a frying pan. I added olive oil and chicken powder and mixed well. It was done. The beef stroganoff was served over the noodle. The result was pretty good. Since the instructions were wrong about the amount of water, I deducted some points. On second thought, since the recipe for stroganoff is so simple, I do not really need to buy a mix. I can make it from scratch.
I think this would be great in a hurry but for myself i did not find it that tasty probably if i had put some peppers and onions in it but i used noodles and it was too much it was not something i would buy myself for a meal bvut i think for a teen at college they would probably love it and i really think a picky eater would like this. I have wondered about this and it gave me a chance to try it now i know, produck had nice spices in it. maybe over rice would have been better you can experiment with this and come up with your own likes
This product is one of the many McCormick seasoning packages that you can use to make many different dishes. I love Beef Stroganoff, but I hate the time and effort that it takes to make it from scratch. I wanted an easier way to enjoy my favorite meal. I will start off by saying that the instructions to make this entrée is easy to read and follow. You just follow the easy to read instructions and you have dinner. There are many things that I did not like about this seasoning, one reason is the amount needed to get the right flavor. For anyone that has eaten Beef Stroganoff from scratch you know that it is a creamy and flavorful meal. This seasoning packet it will make your meal creamy and flavorful, but if you are feeding more than two people get another packet, because one is not enough.
This is the first and last time that I will be using this packet type product from McCormack. I was more than a little surprised by the reaction that both my spouse and I had to this. To begin with, it tastes nothing like any other Beef Stroganoff I have ever tried, whether is was made from an envelope mixture, a box or even from scratch. In retrospect, the best of the envelope mixes came from Lipton many years ago; the Hamburger Helper variety that comes in the box even surpasses McCormack, provided that you substitute whole milk for half of the water as the box directions say. The taste itself is a little on the bitter side. I tried to ameliorate this by adding additional sour cream to the final mix, but that just turned the dish into a messy goo. I went the directions one better by using Walmart's premium meat—the one with the colorful sticker that adds a lot to the cost of preparing this meal. In all, this is the most disappointing product I've tried from McCormack, a company that I have trusted for many years.
