I have always made chili using a recipe that cooked all day. I was very skeptical of a chili mix that took less than one hour from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprised. This chili was easy enough to make without the all day cooking. It was tasty and quick. I will definitely use McCormick Chili mix again.
Me and my husband really like homemade chili but the problem was is that I'm not great when it comes to making up recipe, especially recipes that need different seasonings. So I grabbed this McCormick Classic Chili Seasoning Mix Packet one night well I was out shopping. I read the back of the chili packet and grabbed the ingredients it told me to for making chili. When I got home I made the chili recipe on the back of this packet and wow! This chili tasted so delicious! The k my thing I changed about the recipe was I put all the ingredients in to a crockpot for 6 hours on low. We both really liked how this chili tasted and I remembered when I was young and my mom would make chili from scratch in the crockpot and how delicious that was and this McCormick Chili Seasoning Mix recipe tasted exactly the same as my mom's recipe when I was a child. I have made this McCormick Classic Chili Seasoning Mix recipe a few more times since that night I first made it and it has been the same every time and so delicious too. I am so glad I tried out this McCormick Chili Seasoning Packet and the recipe on the back. If your looking for a good chili recipe I highly recommend you grabbing some of this McCormick Chili Seasoning and mixing it up with the recipe on the back. It's great comfort food.
I was worried that this would interfere with my typical chili seasoning mix that I hand make, but it ended up tasting similar. My guests were happy. I would recommend this to people who like a quick chili, but I prefer to change it up every time. I would not buy this. I have all of the seasonings that comes in this packet already.
I am not a chilly person, however I made it for my family. They had no idea that it was a packet mix. They said it was the best I'd ever made. So if that gives you any hint. The consistency was great it was thick and the flavors were perfect it wasn't too spicy it wasn't too salty. Some of us put sour cream in our chili and some of us use crackers and it held up to the sour cream and didn't lose a lot of flavor it just was creamy I'm definitely going to buy this again rather than doing it from scratch it's super easy and very affordable
The ease of already having the ingredients combined for the perfect flavor takes the guessing game put pf seasoning my chili by eye. I brought my chili to a friend's + family get together and it was a hit.
My family loves when I make chili I tend to always use this pack but I received a sample from bzz agent to try out to have extra chilli to make chili lol but I just wanted to say thank you to McCormick for keeping the smiles in my home coming with delicious food ingredients and recipes thank you and thanks bzz agent for the samples your the best
McCormick sent me this free sample of their chili seasoning through the BzzAgent sampling program. I would recommend the chili seasoning spice packet! My family and I found this seasoning blend to be very easy to use and very tasty. You can find a very quick and easy suggested recipe for making chili on the back of the packet. I followed these directions and the product was a very good bowl of chili!
This seasoning mix is good for making chili. It has a nice balance of spice and flavor. It's convenient and easy to use. I just mix it with ground beef, beans, tomatoes, and water, and cook for 20 minutes. It makes a decent meal for the whole family. I think this product is worth trying if you like chili.
Making chili has become so much easier with this. I don't need to grab 20 different seasonings out of the cabinet anymore. The taste is perfect, not too salty at all. I use this in the slow cooker instead. I use one pound of ground beef, three cans of beans (pinto, kidney, and black beans), a can of diced tomatoes, and half a cup of chili seasoning mix. Each slow cooker is different, but I usually cook it for 4 hours on high and my 4 out of 5 kids and hubby love it, which is pretty good in my house! This chili is ok, but maybe not quite spicy enough for our Texas palates. I did substitute the can of tomatoes for a can of Rotel and drained the beans to add a can of tomato sauce. It had a decent flavor but was very mild. It was very quick to make and is certainly better than a canned chili for a topper for a hot dog or a baked potato. However, it was not our favorite as a stand-alone chili.
