This is a quick and tasty marinade highly recommend
My favorite marinade for steaks!
Have only used the Montreal seasoning which is wonderful. The marinade mix makes a grilled piece of meat even better than shaking out the seasoning. This will be my go-to marinade from now on. Delicious and low salt too. Can't beat that.
and makes meat taste tender and good and has that added benefit of less sodium
I picked this product because there were very few products left on Spark when I searched. It is a very nice marinade, especially for beef and chicken, and its lower sodium content is a boon. My son likes to use it when prepping these meats for the barbeque. I will definitely buy this when this one is used up.
used the marinade on sirloin steak, the taste the marinade gave the steak was very good, but the steak was tough, no fault of the marinade, we mixed with white vinegar and after setting for 1/2 grilled the steak. The seasoning taste was very good.
I like this marinade because you have control of the strength of the ingredients. Most bottled marinades are too strong for us and this one allows you to sharpen the taste depending on the item being marinated. From meat to mushrooms, this is just what we needed.
I would recommend this to all my friends, they do not cook. I do cook, a lot.. I personally think my personal spice blends are better. But my friends who do not cook can do this all by themselves easy to do just 1. pick your meat, 2. Rub it in, add a bit of olive oil 3. Marinade for atLest a couple hours- up to a day 4. Cook .. I grilled on a George Forman Tasted good. Super easy for a novice cook.
I'm not sure if it was my husband's grilling skills, or the seasoning. To me, the steak didn't taste any different than when he's cooked steaks previously. Of course, we do use other steak seasoning so this could be why I couldn't taste a difference. We always "doctor" our steaks, and this made it easy coming in just one package....and it was an excellent steak, so yes, it was this seasoning that made the difference. I like the fact I did get an excellent tasting steak coming from one easy package, and would add this as a staple to my other seasonings. I think this would also be excellent on lamb and pork chops, ribs, and other cuts of poultry, beef, pork, maybe even shark!! Yes, I will buy this, and recommend this seasoning! Yum!!!
We have used the regular Montreal seasoning for our steaks for a long time so I was anxious to try the marinade. We currently use a competitors brand of steak marinade. The mix was very thick, even after adding the amount of liquid as directed on the package. There was barely enough to cover the steak in the container and I did have to keep spooning it over the top to cover. Once grilled, there was a significant amount of black pepper still remaining on the steak and we were surprised at how much more intense the pepper flavor was as compared to the regular seasoning mix. If we used this again I would double the amount of liquid to make the black pepper flavor less intense.
