This mix is perfect for any night. I found it easier to make than I expected. I made it on the 8 hour setting on low. I feel that if it were on high even for the recommended shorter time, it would have a tendency to burn. Not to mention that it's the "slow cooking" that gets the flavor just right. If I was going to make it again, I might not use as much brown sugar, but only because I found it a tad sweet for my tastes. I'm not sure if I used the right cut of pork, but next time I would probably use a bigger cut, like a pork loin or roast, since I used country rib style and hoped for a more marble like texture...People who like leaner meats, would probably like it for sandwiches.
If you cook a couple of times a week, then you probably already have the rest of the ingredients in your cabinet. You need apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, 2 lbs of beef or pork. I used pork because I love pork. I mixed everything together and it made a sweet, nice, thick mix to soak overnight. The mix smells so good that my husband kept waking up wanting to eat it. Think of the cartoons wear an awesome smell made someone fly through the air following the smell, that is what my husband acted like. The next day I turned the crock pot off. I had cooked it on low overnight for 8 hours. It was soo tender and had an excellent taste. It was not too sweet, not too bold, just perfect. I actually put the juices on top of the meat on my sandwich bun and it soaked through a little, but had the taste even juicer. We ate it with some potato chips and it was a prefect meal. I do recommend this mix for an excellent tasting meal. Easy to make and uses less dishes to wash from cooking. Everyone loved it!
The McCormick Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Seasoning Mix is AMAZING! The has got to be the very best slow cooker seasoning mix packet that I have ever tasted. It made the most amazing BBQ Pulled Pork sandwiches. They were even better than ones I had at restaurants. The flavor was amazing. On the back of the package the instructions say you need to add ketchup, brown sugar, and vinegar. Well, I had none of those ingredients so I just put the meat, seasoning packed and added some water. Turned on the crockpot in the morning before leaving for work. It cooked all day. When I got home that evening I shredded the meat which was so tender it was falling apart. We put the shredded meat on buns and added a little BBQ sauce. They were the best sandwiches ever! You don't even need the BBQ sauce because the meat had such great flavor from the seasoning packet. Also the seasoning packet is for pulled pork, but we had used it on beef too and it was amazing too! I can't tell you how good this McCormick pulled pork seasoning packet it. We couldn't get enough. I will definitely be purchasing it and making sandwiches again. McCormick did a great job! Would definitely recommend.
When it comes to cooking I am all about what is convenient and easy. That is why when it came to selecting the McCormick Slow Cookers BBQ Pulled Pork Seasoning Mix, I did not hesitate. McCormick seasoning are always high quality and this is no exception. The packet is simply combined with some brown sugar, vinegar, and ketchup, and mixed well. Then pour it over a pork shoulder roast in your crock pot and eight hour later you have a wonderful meal for the entire family. Set it before you go to work and come home to the finished product. Easy and delicious with very little effort. You can also change it up by adding your own special touches. Maybe exchange the ketchup with BBQ sauce or add some wine for a special touch. This is a great product so try it. You will not be disappointed.
This one here, this is our all time 'go to' seasoning for ribs & barbeque. This product has not let us down over many, many times using it, in many various scenarios. It adds the perfect flavor to any pork product, leaving you with an awesome meal to serve for family and friends. I would have no problem at all recommending this product to others, it's a staple in our spice bin.
This makes the best pulled pork! It was even better than I have had at some restaurants that pride themselves for their BBQ. I made this for the first time about a week ago and my family loved it. We will definitely make it again. It was so easy to make too. I put this pulled pork recipe together around lunchtime in the slow cooker before I headed out to run some errands. It was super quick and easy to throw together. When we got back home, the house was filled with a scrumptious, mouth-watering aroma. We had it for dinner as pulled pork over rice because I thought the rice would really soak up the yummy sauce and I was correct. It would also make awesome pulled pork sandwiches or could be used as a topping for baked potatoes or nachos. I can imagine myself fixing this and bringing it to a church or family function and people could have it on what they choose. Either way, it is a new family favorite! Thank you McCormick.
I tried the twist that’s listed on the back of the seasoning mix. I used the chicken breast. It was quick and easy to fix. The package tells you everything you need you can see the recipe. You only have 5 ingredients, seasoning mix, the meat (pork, beef or chicken) ketchup, brown sugar, and cider vinegar. You can serve this over rice or in bun or any way you could think of. Say what about pizza. Everybody loves pizza. Use your imagination and come up with some ideas you would love. At your next Sunday brunch try adding McCormick Slow Cookers BBQ Pulled Pork Seasoning Mix to your meal.
This was my first time making pulled pork. The crock pot method so super simple although needed several hours. Perfect to start before work and dinner ready when you get home. We liked the seasoning flavor but felt it was missing "something". Exactly what hard to figure. Had a nice tang but still needs a missing ingredient. Also found it was a bit thin, watery at the finish. Would have liked a more creamy texture to the sauce. The ingredients in the package having little calories 15 per serving, 0% fat, moderate sodium at 430mg and only coming in at 3g of carbohydrates is good. We also liked the fact there was no MSG. Directions were super simple and only 4 ingredients the pork roast, ketchup, brown sugar and cider vinegar. It made more than enough for a family of 4. Over all it was a thumbs up in our house.
McCormick Slow Cookers BBQ Pulled Pork seasoning - pretty good stuff. We made BBQ sliders and salad for Friday night DVD movies at home. Added all the stuff, except the meat & Peppers to the cockpot before going to bed Thursday night. In the morning added the meat and a few red & yellow pepper pieces to the mix. Set the crock pot timer and good to go. (Used Gourmet ketchup - not regular stuff. Also did not use 1/3 cup of vinegar, just a couple of tablespoons since the mean was cooking for 6-8 hours. For more flavor. added my own touch with 1 drop of Apple wood Liquid Smoke to the pot. ). The house smelled so good - who does not love BBQ! We made sliders from the pork. Added a big salad and dinner was ready in 20 minutes. Going to try this with chicken thighs next time on some Naan Flat Bread and Cilantro Cabbage Cole Slaw. I am big on "almost home made" since we all work and have other activities we do as a family. Anything to help keep us away from "fast food" is a plus for our health.
I enjoy cooking so I like to try new recipes McCormick slow cook BBQ pulled seasoning mix was an easy way to go and fun. The dished looked appetizing, the pork cooked perfect fork tender. The problem was it came out too sweet it wasn't awful, it was pretty much edible but way to much sugar for our liking. The packet has brown sugar already in it, I don't know why it calls for so much more. Next time I will try to reduce the brown sugar and ketchup to 1/4 cup each, I think that may help. The vinegar gave it an detectable tangy pungent kinda over whelming taste, the flavors were off I may just omit completely next time. I served it with Coleslaw, baked beans and toasted wheat buns.
