We have never tried Chicken Taco seasoning by McCormick before. It has a great flavor! We made burritos and cooked chicken breast with black beans and onions. We use lots of different McCormick seasoning mixes and love the convenience. We always keep several different types in the cabinet. The only con is the sodium content. My only suggestion would be to offer a low sodium or salt free version. There is so much flavor from the spices that it would be easy to cut the salt by half. After browning the chicken in a skillet, we had dinner ready in about 10 minutes. It would probably be very tasty with turkey breast as well. I would recommend this flavoring to anyone who wants a break from ground beef in their tacos. Thanks Walmart!
We've been making chicken quesadillas without seasoning or using taco seasoning for years. As soon as I tried this packet I knew there would never be anything else. Flavor explosion. I've only used in the CROCKPOT and doubled the oil. Absolutely amazing!! Cut into bite size pieces on low for 2 or so hours.
I normally make beef tacos so this is the first time I've tried chicken tacos. They were delicious! I didn't follow the recipe exactly, but I'll tell you what I did. The directions say to put a tablespoon of oil, then add your pound of chicken breast. After the chicken is cooked through, you add the seasoning mix and 1/2 cup of water. Bring it to a boil and then let it simmer for 5-7 minutes. I'm a busy mom so I'm an improviser in the kitchen when it comes to healthy quick meals. I used canned chicken breast only because the chicken breast I had was frozen. When I drained the chicken breast I reserved 1/2 cup of the juice and substituted that instead of the water. I then followed the directions and I think it came out awesome. I also made it healthier by eliminating the oil! You can definitely taste taco seasoning flavor. It literally took me less than 10 minutes to make this! I am going to definitely do this again. So all you busy folks out there, it's as easy as chicken, seasoning mix, and water! On a side note, my husband is cutting back on carbs so he chose to put the chicken over lettuce and added tomatoes, salsa, a little cheese, and a touch of sour cream. He really liked it. I ate mine in a soft taco and the kids did as well.
MCCORMICK MEXICAN CHICKEN TACO SEASONING MIX WAS VERY DELICIOUS. IT HAS ALL SORTS OF SPICES AND SEASONS IN IT. YOU CAN SEE ALL KINDS AND YOU COULD TASTE EVERY FLAVOR. I LOVED IT. I DON'T USUALLY BUY THE SEASONING MIXES I NORMALLY USE WHAT I HAVE ON HAND LIKE A TACO SEASONING OR SOMETHING I MIX UP MYSELF. I NEVER KNEW WHAT I WAS MISSING. I NEVER KNEW A CHICKEN TACO OR BURRITO TASTED SO GOOD. I USED TO LIKE THEM NOW I LOVE THEM. THIS SEASONING MIX PACKET GIVES THE CHICKEN TACO A WONDERFUL FLAVOR AND DON'T OVER POWER THE CHICKEN. IT'S HARD TO DESCRIBE WHAT A DELICIOUS FLAVOR IT BRINGS TO YOUR CHICKEN TACO. I WILL BE BUYING THIS REGULARLY. ANOTHER GREAT MCCCORMICK PRODUCT.
I had not made chicken tacos before, but this seemed like a quick and easy way to try for the first time. I used boneless skinless chicken breast in the recipe. I made this for a family gathering, at the same time as I made the burrito recipe, in which I used ground turkey. The directions were simple and easy to follow. It also indicated a very short preparation time. After using the burrito packet and having to simmer an extra-long time to reach desired consistency, I did not add the entire suggested ½ cup of water. I reduced the water to about ¼ cup, and simmered the mixture on the recommended medium-high heat. The chicken came out beautifully, and very flavorful. The tacos were served with soft shells and the usual condiments. Even my “picky eater” sister had great appreciation for the tacos. I will surely make it a point to keep some packets on hand.
I received McCormick Chicken Taco Seasoning Mix for review. First, let me say I'm being single, on a budget, & not much of a cook, I love McCormick's seasoning mixes. For $1.50 I get all of the flavors of spices without having to spend my grocery budget on jars of herbs and spices I may never use again. Combine that with a simple recipe on the back and getting to throw it in the slow cooker, and it's just what I need. The chicken taco mix was simple, inexpensive, and tasted great. I just needed chicken, oil, water, & tortillas to round out the seasoning pack. I had everything on hand, except the tortillas. The directions were simple and easy to follow. In total it took maybe fifteen minutes. I added some sour cream, but the flavor of the chicken stood on its own. It was spicy, but didn't have too much heat. I am a light-weight when it comes to spicy foods (I feel adventurous if I order something off the menu with one pepper beside it), so it was just enough for my comfort.
This chicken taco seasoning is very easy to use and tastes great! This is great for whipping up a quick taco dinner and would work as a burrito filling etc. I highly recommend this taco seasoning!
Our family is not a big taco eating family, but this seasoning mix has changed our minds! I didn’t even know that taco seasoning mixes for meat was available to purchase! We had made tacos for the last super bowl party and all I had was rotisserie chicken. Had I had known that there were seasoning mixes available for chicken we could have had more flavorful chicken tacos. Seasoning mix is easy to use and adds great flavor to the taco. My kids absolutely love tacos now as opposed to before when I was only using non-seasoned rotisserie chicken. We will definitely be buying more to use in the future!
I prepared the chicken according to the instructions on the package. The seasoning coated each piece nicely and was just spicy enough to compete with the flour tortilla, cheese and sour cream I used. My husband liked the flavor. It was a good flavor and definitely not like a fajita or regular beef taco, which was nice. I've tried to make my own seasoning for chicken tacos before and this was much better! Was it a "cravable" memorable or outstanding flavor? Not really, but it was good. (we like spicy, so some hot sauce would make these even better!) It might be a good way to season chicken for use in a salad, too. It was very easy to prepare and I have always liked and had success with McCormick seasonings in the past.
