i didn't know it was possible to mess up apples but here we are. These somehow had zero apple flavor at all. They tasted like crunchy citrus acid. Way too much citric acid. I get that the citric acid is need to deter oxidation but there was just too much. If the apples had had any flavor of their own, it would've been overpowered by the acid, but completely aside from the acid there was no apple flavor. Maybe they were left in the citric acid solution for too long and all the apple flavor was diluted out and too much acid flavor soaked in. Whatever it was, I'm not likely to buy these again. I've gotten the individual packets of peeled apples from Walmart before and they were good. I thought these would be the same but not at all. Maybe it was just a bad batch but I don't think I'll take my chances in the future. I don't like cooked apples so these will unfortunately go to waste because the only way to save them is to make them into pie or cobbler. For fairness, I'll say they were fresh looking, crisp, and except for a little red peel here and there that was missed, they *looked* great. But they tasted awful. Not torture-level awful but like practical joke awful. "Here, have one of these "tasty" apple slices. <wink wink>" 🤢 I won't fall for that joke twice, though.
Today is 4/9 I got Apple that will expire 4/10 that are mushy and not edible at all for my kids. I don't feel like these will be okay to eat.
Walmart should be ashamed of themselves. I ordered delivery and got rotten, leaking apple slices that had flies all over them the second the delivery driver delivered them to my porch. You can see the flies in the picture the delivery driver took! Juice leaked all over my other bags, my porch, the chair on my porch, myself, and in my doorway! I'm livid! What a poor excuse for a grocery store!
Some of the apples are very soft and rotten. You can smell the odor of spoiled fruits. clearly you can see some of apples aren't fresh.
old, soft, soggy and smell fermeneted.
A lousy produce Dept. They should always be checking ALL their products FOR FRESHNESS! Walmart should be embarrassed about this so-called "Freshness Guarantee". A 'Fresh Produce' Delivery is always a risky toss of the dice when it comes to Walmart. Best not to have fresh items Delivered. Hire more people, in order to do better!
They are sooooooo bad honestly if you buy go in store to choose because the curbside always chooses bad produce. The apples are nasty sour, and they look as if they had been frozen then thawed. They were super slimy as well and look as if they were bitten on. I threw them away and requested refund through app but Walmart says I need to return in store :| waste of money
Apples were completely wilted. Produce is totally down in quality and shoppers are picking the bad stuff it feels purposely.
Pure mush for slices rally?
Absolutely not fresh. Looked as if they had been frozen and then thawed, plus they tasted sour. So bad I had to spit it out. This is second time to buy and try these sliced apples and both times they are so bad that no one will eat them.
